Job description

About Us:

SentinelOne is defining the future of cybersecurity through our XDR platform that automatically prevents, detects, and responds to threats in real-time. Singularity XDR ingests data and leverages our patented AI models to deliver autonomous protection. With SentinelOne, organizations gain full transparency into everything happening across the network at machine speed – to defeat every attack, at every stage of the threat lifecycle.

We are a values-driven team where names are known, results are rewarded, and friendships are formed. Trust, accountability, relentlessness, ingenuity, and OneSentinel define the pillars of our collaborative and unified global culture. We're looking for people that will drive team success and collaboration across SentinelOne. If you’re enthusiastic about innovative approaches to problem-solving, we would love to speak with you about joining our team!

What are we looking for?

We are seeking a Staff Data Engineer who is passionate about data engineering and AI. We need someone who can contribute to the development and implementation of robust data solutions and enhance our data capabilities for cyber security research. The ideal candidate has a strong background in data engineering, building distributed systems over a cloud environment and is comfortable working with large-scale datasets (our cybersecurity platform ingest 5-10 petabytes of data daily) for research purposes.

What will you do?
  • As a Staff Data Engineer at SentinelOne, you will play a vital role in designing, building, and maintaining the data infrastructure required for effective research for developing cyber threat detections in our products (incl. new AI-powered detections or detections in cloud environments). These infrastructures will be used by data scientists and cyber security researchers to make sense of petabytes of data.
  • You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional production teams across the entire company, including data scientists, cyber security researchers, product managers, and more.
  • You will deliver innovative data solutions that will assist us in developing the best threat detection solution and protecting our customers.
What experience and knowledge you should bring?
  • 4+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, and distributed systems
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python (that we use), Java, Scala, or similar
  • Experience with cloud-based technologies such as AWS (our primary), GCP or Azure
  • Experience with deploying big data technologies such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, Hive, IceBerg or Trino
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and technologies
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, Grafana or similar.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative solutions to complex problems
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly present and explain complex data and models to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • BS or higher degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field. Additional or directly relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience in leading cross-functional projects between R&D and product teams

A huge plus would be

  • Experience in and passion for cybersecurity
  • Experience with MLOPs and working with data scientists
Why us?

You will work on real-world problems and make an impact by protecting our customers from cyber threats.
