You'll be responsible for

  • Manage the financial reporting control framework supporting the integrity of the Allianz Australia balance sheet.
  • Oversee credit control governance activities and the delivery of investment accounting activities under outsourced arrangements.
  • Manage tax-effect accounting across local and group reporting environments, and ensure appropriate controls and reviews are undertaken.
  • Deliver the financial assurance framework over underwriting agency arrangements including bordereaux reconciliations and settlements and financial control reviews.
  • Manage the delivery of Finance user acceptance testing (UAT) for IT system changes impacting financial information to ensure integrity of financial data.
  • Operate under an Agile structure as a Product Owner to ensure the timely and high quality delivery of the squad’s products.

 

About you

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline with relevant certification as a CPA / CA or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience in leading a financial accounting operations team and strong understanding of subject matter.
  • Comprehensive understanding of organisational financial control frameworks and experience in such processes, resources, and systems, providing advice to improve financial performance and achieve strategic objectives.
  • Ability to identify, analyse and assess risks inherent to the business and put in place appropriate controls / actions to manage financial reporting risk and support compliance.
  • Ability to effectively partner and collaborate with stakeholders of varying levels of seniority to establish strong professional relationships and influence outcomes.
  • Proven analytical and critical thinking capability to interpret a range of data, identify patterns, trends and links that inform judgements and solutions.
