Education At Work (E@W), a national non-profit that supports college students by providing work-based learning employment that accelerates their career success, is currently hiring for Intuit Product Expert and Tax Specialist roles for the upcoming tax season. These are paid, school-year positions with significant opportunities for advancement for students seeking a career in tax, accounting, or finance.
Product Experts will represent Intuit during their interactions with customers as E@W employees. To represent the company professionally, you will demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, a desire to learn, and an enthusiasm for delighting customers. Tax Specialists will complete the content in the Intuit Academy, including information on basic tax preparation and the opportunity to work on sample tax returns before taking a mandatory assessment. Once certified, Tax Specialists will be paired with team leaders and managers with tax preparation experience as they begin their journey of supporting individuals in tax preparation. Intuit’s scaffolded approach has helped thousands of individuals without a CPA to successfully build tax preparation skills and gain the experience needed to earn significant income during tax season. E@W recruiters, trainers, and senior leaders will work with interested students to determine whether the Product Expert or Tax Specialist role is the appropriate position for you.

Key Responsibilities:This is a virtual, customer-facing role; you will use our state-of-the-art video communications software (Smartlook) to interact with customers. Your tasks will include: Providing tax advice, full-service return preparation, and signature. Addressing product and software inquiries. Assisting with tax calculations. Creating high-quality customer interactions and experiences that instill confidence through deep customer empathy and extensive knowledge and expertise in tax preparation. Utilizing government websites, professional resources, and team expertise to find and deliver accurate answers to customers in everyday language. Applying defined practices, procedures, and company policies to troubleshoot and resolve customer tax advice and preparation inquiries. Documenting customer interactions. Work continuously toward meeting company KPI metrics and Big Bet Goals.Qualifications: Complete and pass the Intuit Academy Level 1 badge and Intuit Tax Practice Program. Must possess or be able to obtain any related State licenses, certificates, permits, or bonds. Must possess an active Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN). Proficient with technology; solid knowledge of computer operations and software. Strong customer service skills – the ability to interact with customers through video and audio tools in a professional, friendly, and confident manner. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Critical thinking, problem-solving, research skills, and determination. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills (written & spoken) a plus. Must reside in the United States.Required Knowledge/Background Experience: High School diploma. Enrolled in a post-secondary degree-granting program. Previous experience in a customer service environment and comfortable using phone and chat if necessary.
