Product Engineering, Lead Senior Specialist (Back-end .NET Developer)

Job Responsibilities:

A development team member of an Agile team you participate in and contribute to all Agile ceremonies such as and not limited to:

  • Daily stand-up meeting, you provide overview of your tasks you performed last working day, you explain what tasks you will be picking up and explain any impediment that blocks you from delivering your planned tasks. You also support the team and help solving impediments raised by other team members where applicable.
  • Sprint planning: You help providing estimations and suggest what stories/tasks you can pick up and deliver in the upcoming sprint.
  • Sprint Review and Demo: you keep all tasks and story stories up to date and prepare demonstrations of working software
  • Sprint retrospective: you provide insights on what went well and what can be improved in next sprints to increase the team velocity
  • Refinement sessions: in a working session with stakeholders you make sure you have a full understanding of the functional (and non-functional) requirements and are able to provide technical solution designs and accurate estimates.

As a developer in general:

  • You write performant and qualitative stable and maintainable code respecting design patterns like SOLID and DRY.
  • You are responsible to manage your code changes correctly within planned releases and respecting the SDLC and compliance requirements.
  • All your code is well documented in our technical Wiki and release notes and deployment instructions are always complete and timely delivered as part of our DOD together with a demo of working software.
  • You collaborate with your team members and think as one team.

As a lead Specialist:

  • You own the technical solution of one of our most strategic product modules, our payroll calculation engine.
  • You support all of the technical engineers in your team with technical solutions, best practices, technical challenges.
  • You are able to get to know the existing solution insight-out and define the technical runway ahead staying on top of the latest and greatest technologies.

Requirements:

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of experience of C#
  • Very good coding and unit testing capabilities (C#, LINQ, SQL)
  • Very good knowledge of .NET Frameworks (i.e. Entity framework)
  • Experienced with Databases (MySQL, Oracle, Azure sql Server, Mongo DB, Cosmos DB)
  • Willingness and ability to work independently as part of the global virtual team
  • Analytical skills and ability to create a quality documentation
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure is an asset
  • Experienced in writing/understanding/challenging Technical Designs
  • Experienced in development best practices like: SOLID (Single Responsibility Principle, Open/Closed Principle, Liskov, Substitution Principle, Interface Segregation Principle, Dependency Inversion), DRY (Don’t Repeat Yourself), Security First, and TDD (Test Driven Development)
  • Having notions of git
  • Experience working with Azure DevOps or similar (Jira)
  • Being an excellent Team Player collaborating with frontend developers
