Overview:
NIWC Atlantic Software Services requires ISHPI to provide emerging Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of Navy (DON) information technology, to design, develop, engineer, and maintain systems that will improve customer organizational efficiency. ISHPI provides support in the areas of Administrative Services, Applications Integration Management, Corporate Strategy Planning and Execution, Information Assurance (IA), Information Resource Management, and Information Technology (IT) Operations. Further task includes new standards engineering, prototype installation, application development, data interoperability, system design, system management and maintenance, data collection, analysis, and other management and implementation efforts in support of data translation, data mediation, and data mapping.
Responsibilities:
- Planning, designing, debugging, and coding software solutions for Java application development
- Develop Java-based software using industry best practices
- Writing and implementing efficient and reusable code in Java
- Test the software to ensure it meets requirements and performs well
- Provide technical support to software users
- Troubleshoot problems with the software
- Collaborate with software engineers to ensure that code quality
- Work with product owners and business analysts to ensure the software is designed well and meets user needs
- Identify opportunities to improve existing Java code
- Create technical documentation related to applications and process
Qualifications:
Education: BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related discipline. In lieu of degree, a minimum of 12 years of related experience is necessary.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5/10 years of experience in Java development
- In-depth knowledge of web application design and programming including the following: html, javascript, css, thymeleaf, spring boot, java, oracle, sql, flyway, REST, jboss
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a remote environment
- Knowledge of SDLC and Agile framework
- Experience with CI/CD pipleines
DoD 8570 IAT Level II, - Must have, or obtain within 4 months, at least one of the following: CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate Security), CySA+ (CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst), GICSP (Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional), GSEC (GIAC Security Essentials Certification), CompTIA Security+ CE, CND (Certified Network Defender), or SSCP (Systems Security Certified Practitioner)
Security Clearance: Requires U.S. Citizenship and an active DoD government security clearance.

Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position is $80,000 - $90,000 . Please note that any salary information disclosed is a general guideline only. Ishpi considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
