Overview:
Veeco Instruments is seeking a motivated Cybersecurity Engineer to join our Veeco team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for cybersecurity, a willingness to learn, ask questions, and the ability to contribute to the continuous improvement of our overall security roadmap. The candidate will be responsible for supporting endpoint security, password management and access requests amongst other cybersecurity operations while participating in ongoing learning and development.
Responsibilities:
- Support endpoint security operations including endpoint, detection, response.
- Assist in managing and maintaining the password vaulting solution.
- Collaborate with the incident response team to investigate and analyze security alerts.
- Participate in cybersecurity projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing the organization's security posture.
- Engage in continual learning and development activities to enhance cybersecurity skills and knowledge.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of cybersecurity best practices and standards.
- Assist in monitoring and analyzing security events to identify potential threats.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on larger projects.
- Stay current on the latest technologies, trends, and practices in cybersecurity.
- Implement best practices, strategies, methodologies, and approaches to all assigned tasks and complex projects.
- Up to 10% travel is required.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field is required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong desire to pursue ongoing learning and professional development in cybersecurity
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Knowledge of foundational cybersecurity principles and concepts
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Understanding of endpoint detection and response concepts
- Familiarity with password vaulting solutions and their role in secure credential management
- Basic knowledge of cybersecurity tools and technologies
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with team members across various departments
- Proficiency in basic scripting and automation is a plus
- Good understanding of networking and system administration concepts
- Ability to learn and adapt to new cybersecurity tools and technologies

The expected salary range for this position is $60,843 – $77,067, plus bonus opportunity. When determining your pay, we will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
