Your Opportunity + Impact

The Systems Engineer is responsible for the implementation and ongoing management of the enterprise server and storage architecture and output systems. This position is responsible for server and storage maintenance, as well as software packaging/distribution and related desktop management operations. This position will operate autonomously and will use discretion and independent judgment to configure, troubleshoot, test solutions, and implement solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for server and storage systems, both on premise and cloud-based.
  • Responsible for printer/plotter/scanning systems.
  • Provides Level 3 end user support, including working with vendors to resolve issues.
  • Participates in disaster recovery planning, business continuity planning & execution, and incident response planning.
  • Installs, maintains, configures, and test operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
  • Responsible for management of assigned projects.
  • Participates in Change Management processes.
  • Creates, manages, and deploy system images and software packages.
  • Performs daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media.

Education and Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Sciences, Information Technology or related field preferred; Associates Degree or equivalent work-related experience required.
  • Experience: Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in an Enterprise environment required
  • Licensure/Certification: MSCE and VCP preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Must have proven working experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows Server based environments.
  • Solid experience with server and storage virtualization (e.g. VMware, VSAN). Must have experience with monitoring systems, solid scripting skills (e.g. PowerShell), and strong networking knowledge (TCP/IP).
  • Must stay current with technologies, be able to work both independently and as a team member to complete assigned tasks, meet deadlines, respond to multiple priorities, and communicate effectively with peers.
  • Must have strong organizational and customer service skills.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
