Medicaid Financial Analyst 

Location: Remote position with Clients based in TX. Looking for individuals preferably in the Central or Eastern time zone.

Our unprecedented growth has created a number of new opportunities across the company.  Currently, we are looking to delight our customers by hiring a Medicaid Financial Analyst who has experience completing cost reports and administrative claims for school-based Medicaid. Reporting to the Senior EDI Analyst, Team Lead, the Medicaid Financial Analyst is a trusted partner to Frontline Educations Service Management and Medicaid clients.  This role is central to all client Medicaid revenue streams, including Medicaid Administrative Claiming, Cost Reporting and Fee-For-Service EDI transactions. The successful candidate will utilize their strong Medicaid Cost reporting, administrative claiming, EDI knowledge, communication, analytical and critical thinking skills to manage client Medicaid revenue and reporting in multiple states.  The Medicaid Financial Analyst must demonstrate a commitment to working through complex problems and complete tasks with a high level of accuracy and focus on satisfying the customer.  

Critical Performance Objectives: 

  • Meet quarterly and annual deadlines to produce all client cost reports, and administrative claims 
  • Develop success plans for clients that will result in revenue maximization and increased compliance. Define metrics for success, potential risks, and provide recommendations in line with client strategic revenue goals. 
  • Produce a trusted relationship with your clients while facilitating communications and interactions with Frontline Education at various levels of the business. 
  • Monitor and manage client Medicaid revenue health for assigned base of clients/region. 
  • Consult clients on potential Medicaid revenue and identify key areas for improvement 
  • Communicate regulatory updates to clients in a timely manner 
  • Support clients during state or federal audits to ensure all supporting documentation is supplied 

Responsibilities:  

  • Development and submission of annual cost reports and transportation cost reports in multiple states 
  • Development and submission of quarterly administrative claims in multiple states. 
  • Analysis of client financial information in excel with ability to make recommendations on budgetary guidance to improve revenue.  
  • Maintenance of participatory lists for administrative claiming 
  • Processes EDI transactions in assigned Medicaid states, including 270/271, 277/276, 837/835 and 999 files 
  • Coordinates with implementation consultants to onboard new Medicaid customers 
  • Identifies and escalates transaction issues to the team lead 
  • Partner with CSM to act as a point of escalation for client satisfaction issues related to Medicaid revenue 
  • On occasion participate in direct client calls to clarify Medicaid regulations 
  • Review all Medicaid system reporting to ensure accuracy of results and identify anomalies in claiming or eligible levels that affect cost reporting or administrative claiming 
  • Work directly with the product department to communicate system enhancements for regulatory reasons

  • Identify and document exemplary use cases of Medicaid Revenue increases 
  • Deep understanding of the state/district standards, policies, and processes. 
  • Capacity to develop a clear understanding of the business needs and translate them into solutions. 
  • Demonstrated ability to target critical business problems and apply appropriate decision making, technology, and best practice methodologies to resolve. 
  • Communicate with various departments to keep them abreast of regulatory changes and communication points to clients 
  • Be capable of explaining Medicaid announcements directly to clients regarding regulatory changes 
  • Collaborates and develops effective working relationships with other Frontline Education staff or additional stakeholders on difficult issues as needed.  
  • Adapts well to change and demonstrates stability under pressure 
  • Embodies the company’s core values both internally and externally to Frontline Education. 

Requirements:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. 
  • Ability to conduct financial analysis using excel and proprietary reporting tools 
  • 2+ years school-based Medicaid Cost Reporting and/or Administrative Claiming experience 
  • Possess the ability to work independently and be self-motivated in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Proven strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Adherence to Frontline requirements for documentation, tracking, and measuring 
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and perform effectively in ambiguous situations
