JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

As the Payroll Tax Analyst, you will ensure compliance with payroll-related tax regulations, conduct assessments, address inquiries from taxing jurisdictions, perform tax audits, and provide analysis. You will partner with Dayforce Tax Service to ensure correct and timely tax entity setups and filings. Additionally, you will oversee garnishment processing and compliance, including wage garnishments, child support orders, tax levies, and other court-ordered deductions.

You will liaise with legal entities, employees, and internal departments to resolve issues and ensure compliance with regulations, while maintaining records, conducting audits, and implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

JOB DESCRIPTION

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Liaise with tax authorities and governing bodies to ensure timely resolution of all payroll-related tax issues
  • Manage tax errors by implementing corrective measures and penalties
  • Conduct payroll tax audits to monitor tax withholdings, pay rates, wages, and deductions in payroll and verify compliance with tax and labor laws
  • Manage client-remit tax filings for entities not handled by Dayforce Tax Service.
  • Oversee garnishment administration and compliance
  • Liaise with legal entities, employees, and internal departments to resolve issues and ensure compliance with regulations, while maintaining records, conducting audits, and implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with all payroll-related tax regulations and conduct thorough assessments of payroll tax processes.
  • Address inquiries from various taxing jurisdictions and resolve payroll-related tax issues.
  • Perform tax audits and conduct risk assessments to identify and mitigate compliance risks.
  • Partner with Dayforce Tax Service to ensure accurate and timely setup and filing of tax entities.
  • Manage and oversee the administration of wage garnishments, child support orders, tax levies, and other court-ordered deductions.
  • Liaise with legal entities, employees, and internal departments to resolve garnishment-related issues and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain detailed records, conduct audits, and implement best practices to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of payroll tax and garnishment processes.

BASIC KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 3+ years of experience working as a Payroll Analyst or in a similar role, which includes practice in state agency tax remittance and garnishment administration
  • CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) or FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification) preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, HR, or a relevant field (or equivalent experience)
  • Excellent research, analytical, problem-solving and data management skills 
  • Familiarity with payroll processes, policies, and tax regulations
  • Solid understanding of HCM/ERP systems and technologies

SPECIALIZED SKILLS:
  • You must have strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills to identify payroll-related tax issues and compliance errors. A solid understanding of accounting concepts is essential for compiling, collecting, and reviewing financial data.

TRAVEL / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Team members work in an office or remote work environment. No special physical demands are required.
  • Rare or occasional travel may be required to attend business meetings, training programs, or other situations necessary for the accomplishment of some or all of the daily responsibilities of this position.
