Summary of Job Duties:
The Assistant Director of Facilities and Auxiliary Operations directly oversees the daily operations of all UREC Auxiliary Facilities, including the maintenance and operations within. Staff responsibilities include two full-time staff, and 60+ student staff members. Additional responsibilities include the creation, enforcement and execution of facility policies and procedures, proper risk management practices and maintenance.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in recreation, sports management, higher education, or related field from an accredited institution of higher education
At least two years of demonstrated experience in university/collegiate recreational sports or facility operations
Applicable equivalencies may be considered for the above qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in higher education, recreation, sports management or related field from an accredited institution of higher education
Experience with campus recreation software
Experience with equipment repair and maintenance protocols
Experience managing indoor and outdoor recreational collegiate and/or recreational facilities
Experience completing capital purchases and facility renovations
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
Knowledge of facility equipment and preventative maintenance programs
Knowledge of membership and facility management software
Knowledge of risk management procedures
Knowledge of field equipment and maintenance needs
Ability to monitor and forecast budgets
