Job description

We believe small businesses are at the heart of our communities, and championing them is worth fighting for. We empower small business owners to manage their finances fearlessly, by offering the simplest, all-in-one financial management solution they can't live without.

About the Role:
As a Procurement Specialist at Wave, you will lead seamless procurement processes in the ever-evolving realms of financial services and SaaS technology. Source, negotiate, and optimize contracts, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation. Collaborate with stakeholders and tech partners to drive value, as well as manage our Client Lifecycle Management system and Supplier Risk Management program. Your project-orientated and proactive approach will be crucial in shaping our procurement framework and advancing our critical partnerships.

Here’s How You Make an Impact:
  • Build a strong understanding of financial services and SaaS technology to optimize and negotiate contracts, driving cost savings and efficiency gains across the organization.
  • Using your knowledge of the contracting lifecycle, lead procurement projects with precision and agility, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services while meeting budgetary constraints and quality standards.
  • You'll cultivate a comprehensive grasp of our third-party diligence program and help lead the advancement of our vendor oversight objectives as a Money Services Business.
  • Champion a culture of compliance by staying aligned with industry best practices. Be an advocate for processes and controls to mitigate risks, while holding our third parties accountable to their service level expectations.
  • Manage the systems and processes for contract lifecycle tracking, renewal notifications, and compliance monitoring, ensuring a seamless contract management experience for all stakeholders.
  • Support cross-departmental teams to mature procurement strategies and enhance process efficiency. Your collaborative efforts will drive key outcomes, optimizing cost-effectiveness and ensuring seamless integration of services and tools across the company.
  • Enhance organizational efficiency, by helping streamline procurement processes and leverage technology to accelerate operational workflows, significantly reducing time-to-market and improving the efficiency of our procurement cycle.
  • Lead ongoing improvement efforts within the procurement department by examining data, pinpointing opportunities for improvement, and executing strategies to optimize processes, enhance productivity, and provide tangible benefits to the company.
  • Work with stakeholders across the organization to evaluate vendor performance thoroughly and provide strategic recommendations aimed at optimizing partnership strategies.
  • Assist with review and execution of NDAs, vendor contract renewals, amendments, and vendor termination processes.
  • Facilitate vendor meetings, quarterly business reviews, communications, drafting agendas and taking minutes.

  • You'll Thrive Here By Possessing the Following:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field.
  • Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., Certified Professional in Supply Management, Certified Project Manager) is a plus.
  • 2-3 years of progressive experience in procurement, supply chain management, or related roles.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing procurement processes, contract negotiations, and vendor relationships.
  • Experience within the financial services or technology sector is preferred.
  • Experience with e-procurement platforms, contract management systems, and supplier databases.
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to understand a variety of complex financial models or structures.
  • Experience in negotiations, and a demonstrated ability to achieve favourable terms and conditions.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Superior communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.
