Consulting Engineer (Costa Rica)

Who you are: 

We’re looking for a technical problem-solver with excellent communication skills who enjoys working closely with customers. This role is ideal for someone with a background in development or consulting. While you won’t be doing hands-on coding, you should be comfortable reading and interpreting code. Prior MongoDB experience is a plus, but we’ll provide training using MongoDB’s internal resources. 

What you bring: 

• Strong analytical and diagnostic skills 

• Motivation to manage both technical and customer-facing tasks 

• Confidence presenting and collaborating with customers 

• 5+ years of experience in software development, consulting, or support across various industries 

• Familiarity with software architectures, deployment, and operations 

• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Java, C++, C#, Python, Node.js, etc.) 

• Experience with databases (MongoDB, Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) 

• Familiarity with Linux; Windows tuning knowledge is a plus 

• Fluency in English is a must, and Spanish; Portuguese is a plus

What you’ll do: 

• Solve technical problems and implement MongoDB deployments 

• Plan and follow through on consulting tasks from start to finish 

• Work with architects, developers, and operations teams to deliver training 

• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful project delivery 

• Identify opportunities or risks and communicate them to management

• Become a field expert in MongoDB 

• Build strong, trusted relationships with clients 

• Ensure successful MongoDB implementations for clients 

• Meet billable utilization targets 

• Continuously improve yourself, the team, and the product
