Demand Planner (Remote)

Location: Remote, Corporate Headquarters in Tallahassee, FL
Schedule: Generally 8:00am - 5:00pm Eastern Time with some flexibility
Compensation: $60k - $80k commensurate with experience + a full benefit package (see below for details).

About the position: The Demand Planner will be accountable to forecasting product demand and creating integrated demand/supply plans. These plans will align with our factories' manufacturing lead times and minimum order requirements. This position will manage the purchasing and planning process for the company's inventory, using data analysis to monitor performance and driving improvements in collaboration with the sales team and the factories. The Demand Planner ensures the business has the right inventory supply, in the right places, at the right time to meet anticipated consumer demand.

Essential Tasks of the Demand Planner:
- Demand Forecasting
- Develop and maintain statistical forecasting models to accurately predict product demand.
- Analyze historical sales data, market trends, promotions, and other factors influencing demand.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and supply chain teams to gather inputs for forecasting.
- Generate forecasts at various levels (product, customer, region, etc.) over different time horizons.
- Monitor forecast accuracy and adjust as needed.
- Demand Planning
- Incorporate supplier lead times, capacity constraints, and inventory targets into the demand plan.
- Coordinate with suppliers, supply chain, and logistics to ensure supply meets anticipated demand.
- Manage the demand planning process and maintain an updated demand plan.
- Communicate demand plans to relevant stakeholders across the organization.
- Supply Planning
- Perform supply/demand balancing and inventory planning activities.
- Identify potential supply gaps or excess inventory situations.
- Recommend stock / transfer decisions to optimize supply chain flows for our 3rd party distributors.
- Collaborate with suppliers and contract manufacturers on supply commitments.
- Analytics and Reporting
- Develop dashboards, reports and metrics to monitor demand planning KPIs.
- Conduct root cause analysis on forecast errors and supply/demand imbalances.
- Identify opportunities to improve forecast accuracy and planning processes.
- Present findings and recommendations to cross-functional teams and leadership.
Requirements
This job might be for you if you have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Engineering, Business, Manufacturing, or a related field
- 3+ years of professional experience in sales/demand forecasting, inventory planning, or purchasing
- Strong analytical abilities and comfort with working with numbers and creating algorithms to analyze data
- Experience ordering inventory from overseas suppliers across a range of products
- Manufacturing or production experience
- Experience with machine learning algorithms or predictive analytical tools
- Experience with process improvements, especially related to inventory, supply chain, and purchasing
- Experience with managing products for an Ecommerce-based business (preferable, but not mandatory)
- A hands-on style work ethic, a high level of energy, and a self-motivated personality
- A high comfort level with MS Excel
- Experience with Streamline or other demand planning software (preferable, but not mandatory)
- A high attention to detail, particularly with numbers and data
- The ability to effectively explain your thoughts, ideas, and analysis results (both written and oral)
- A desire to take initiative, be conscientious, and provide complete follow-through on areas of responsibility
- The ability to build excellent working relationships internally and externally to achieve company goals
- Have prior experience with Netsuite or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems (preferable, but not mandatory)
- The ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screening
