Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled Model-Based Systems Engineer Consultant to spearhead the architecture and systems modeling initiatives within our organization. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with established engineering standards while collaborating effectively with architects, technical leadership, and program management. This role will emphasize the development of modeling patterns to accurately capture stakeholder needs, standards, and processes, applying these frameworks to systems architectures and operational models in support of various customer projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor engineering teams and stakeholders as a Subject Matter Expert (SME).
  • Execute a range of design development, analysis, and review tasks autonomously.
  • Manage less complex tasks and oversee segments of design or analysis reviews.
  • Generate comprehensive design specifications for intricate projects.
  • Identify gaps in industry capabilities or tool functionalities and formulate effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with engineering, logistics, financial, and program management teams to delineate system specifications and requirements.
  • Maintain organized filing systems or databases to track project statuses.
  • Create, update, and produce relevant technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications.
  • Serve as a liaison with customers at all levels, facilitating compliance with requirements and specifications.
  • Conduct site visits to address engineering challenges, propose solutions, and provide recommendations.
  • Ensure adherence to engineering documentation standards and testing protocols.
  • Contribute to the formulation of technical proposals, offering insights on technical content and project scope.

Required Skills

  • Exemplary communication, organizational, scheduling, and analytical capabilities.
  • Proven experience in leading and training medium-sized teams (10+ individuals).
  • Proficiency with modeling and simulation toolsets and software.
  • Familiarity with software APIs, preferably in Java.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and Agile practices.
  • Understanding of DevSecOps processes.
  • Experience in producing Systems Engineering Analysis reports encompassing requirements analysis, system architecture, and integration/testing.
  • Awareness of cost accounting and integrated master schedule development.
  • Competence in risk analysis and risk management methodologies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related STEM discipline.
  • A minimum of 10 years of pertinent work experience.
  • U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain a Secret security clearance.
  • A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Physics, Math, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering is preferred.
  • Over 15 years of experience in a relevant field or area.

Compensation And Benefits

  • Job Type: Contract
  • Pay Rate: \(80.00 - \)100.00 per hour
  • Expected Hours: 10 - 40 hours per week
