Job Overview

We are on the lookout for a highly motivated and experienced Family Attorney to join our expanding legal team. In this pivotal role, you will advocate for clients dealing with various family law issues, ensuring their voices are heard during emotionally charged circumstances such as divorce proceedings, spousal support disputes, and child custody arrangements. Your expertise will be critical in guiding clients through complex legal matters with compassion and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain organized and current client files.
  • Analyze client needs meticulously to develop strategic legal approaches.
  • Represent clients in court as required.
  • Draft a range of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and marital settlement agreements for a significant caseload.
  • Collaborate effectively with senior partners and paralegals to streamline the civil litigation process.
  • Ensure the robust representation of clients at court hearings.
  • Support the firm's business development efforts by managing inquiries.
  • Oversee client collection rates and accounts receivables.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities, especially in high-pressure situations.
  • Proficient in various software applications, including Microsoft Office, Google Suite, CRMs, and virtual communication tools.
  • A passion for leveraging technology effectively in legal practice.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor degree and a Bachelor's degree with a legal background are required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in handling family law cases, including real estate matters.
  • Familiarity with criminal justice or other areas of law is an advantage.
  • A proven history of successful advocacy for both plaintiffs and defendants.
  • Must hold a valid license to practice law in Illinois and be located within our service areas (Kane, Cook, Lake, DuPage, and Will Counties).
