Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage our MySQL/InnoDB and Redis/KeyDB databases, including creation, migrations, backups, and replication.
  • Design and implement database schemas with a focus on scalability and performance.
  • Analyze and enhance existing databases to support future growth.
  • Implement comprehensive backup strategies to ensure data integrity.
  • Develop automation solutions to optimize database management tasks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for high-quality deliverables and seamless integration.
  • Stay current with security best practices and apply them effectively.

Required Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in configuring, supporting, and modeling MySQL/MariaDB databases, preferably in a Linux environment.
  • Strong understanding of database concepts, including ACID properties, schemas, stored procedures, and replication.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting database performance and optimization.
  • Knowledgeable about storage, networking, and systems that affect database performance.
  • Familiarity with monitoring systems such as Grafana, Prometheus, or Zabbix.
  • Experienced in scripting languages (Python, Ruby, Bash, Perl, etc.) and automation tools (Ansible, Chef, Terraform, etc.).
  • Skilled in troubleshooting UNIX/Linux environments.
  • Excellent communication skills and strong work ethic.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
