This full-time, exempt position offers flexible remote or hybrid work arrangements, based out of our headquarters in Sandy, Utah. Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be instrumental in enhancing our pricing functions. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and sustaining actuarial models for pricing and risk evaluation utilizing advanced statistical and machine learning methodologies.
- Analyzing datasets to extract significant patterns and insights that inform strategic business decisions.
- Collaborating with diverse teams, including actuaries, underwriting, and IT professionals, to embed data-driven solutions within our operational processes.
- Designing experiments and performing hypothesis testing to validate models and improve accuracy.
- Effectively communicating intricate technical findings and recommendations to stakeholders who may not possess a technical background.
- Keeping abreast of trends and best practices in data science, actuarial science, and relevant regulatory standards.
Required Skills
Ideal candidates will possess:
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL for data manipulation and modeling.
- A solid grasp of actuarial principles, particularly in risk assessment and financial modeling.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities, complemented by a keen attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills with an aptitude for teamwork and collaboration.
Qualifications
Candidates should meet at least one of the following criteria:
- A Master's or Ph.D. in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Actuarial Science, or a related analytical discipline.
- Progress toward relevant professional credentials (e.g., ACAS, FCAS, CSPA).
- A demonstrated history of a minimum of 3 years in actuarial modeling, pricing, statistical analysis, or data science roles within the property and casualty insurance sector.
