Description

Summary

Responsible for programming and development of the Lifelong Post Adoption Program and Infant Connections Program areas. The Program Supervisor is ultimately responsible for consistency, quality, and growth of all service areas.  The Program Supervisor will also provide supervision of appropriate staff within the indicated program service delivery areas and provide the appropriate level of oversight to ensure that the services provided are consistent with the mission, vision, and philosophy of CHS.

Primary Job Functions

Duties

  • Program management, development, and implementation of Infant Connections Program, Lifelong Post Adoption and Contract Services
  • Oversee delivery of lifelong post adoption services (preparing and providing legally permitted information to members of the adoption triad, case management, public relations and educational efforts for post adoption), ensuring that all services are provided competently, ethically, professionally, and within the spirit of Child Welfare League standards
  • Provide input in the agency’s programmatic budgetary process and operate assigned programs/services within the approved budget
  • Work in conjunction with the Marketing and Business Development teams to create and implement a comprehensive marketing plan for the service areas as well as facilitation of outreach presentations for Lifelong Post Adoption, Infant Connections and Contract Services
  • Participate in public relations and advocacy efforts through professional contact with local media, civic organizations, volunteer groups, other agencies, and community leaders. Maintain awareness of national, state, and local welfare issues and policies
  • Consult and coordinate with Placement/Birth Parent Specialists and their Program Supervisors for Infant Connections families
  • Coordinate and facilitate adoption competent educational and parent training workshops for Infant Connections Program on a quarterly basis
  • Coordinate monthly adoption competent support groups for Lifelong Post Adoption Program
  • Responsible for facilitation of case management, support, and social work services for Infant Connections/Contract/Lifelong Adoption families
  • Facilitate the placement process for Infant Connections families receiving a CHS infant
  • Responsible onboarding training, monthly supervision and ongoing training needs of program staff
  • Review and approve Preplacement Assessments, updates and addendums for services within program
  • Serve on the CHS Service Review Committee and Client Rights Committee
  • Responsible for timeliness and accuracy of monthly billing, data for monthly program reports, and program records/files within state standards

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the agency’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
  • Supervise, motivate, evaluate, and counsel all staff under supervision area
  • Program implementation according to all applicable agency licensing, and COA policies and procedures

Qualifications

Job Qualifications

Education, Licenses & Certifications:

  • Minimum of Masters’ degree in Social Work or Masters’ degree in a Human Services field, with significant relevant experience required
  • 5 years’ minimum child welfare services experience, prefer 5 years of adoption related experience
  • Strong organizational skills, resource development and budget development experience a plus
  • Strong working knowledge of human service systems and an ability to bring together and collaborate with diverse community partners
  • Maintain a valid North Carolina driver’s license, adequate auto insurance, and have access to an operating vehicle to attend to CHS business

 

 

 

 

Experience:

  • Significant (5 years) child welfare experience, required

  • Strong organizational skills, resources development and budget development experience a plus
  • Strong working knowledge of human service systems for youth, young adults, and families and an ability to bring together and collaborate with diverse community partners
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with proven effective organizational and time management skills
  • Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Applications as well as electronic data systems, time sheets, expense reports, use of virtual platforms for meetings)

 

 

Ability to:

  • Ability to work independently from a home office and maintain adherence to deadlines.
  • Must be physically able to use standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines 
  • Must be physically able to transport clients in own vehicle, conduct on-site visits, and able to lift/move up to 25 pounds while supporting needs of the clients
  • Frequent travel required

Schedule Expectations

Will work a standard scheduled week, which may include weekends, and evenings. The ability to work flexible hours is required to meet business needs. If working remotely, will be required to be available by telephone and email during specified hours. Frequent travel required to conduct business-related activities.
