WellSky is seeking a Coding Quality Coach on our Advisory Outsource Services Team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys investigating and analyzing data to determine coaching opportunities, giving feedback, and identifying action steps.
A day in the life!
You will be responsible for the following:
- Adhering and understanding Coding Quality policies and procedures, including Medicare, CMS or pay program guidelines, ensuring appropriate coding practices, regulatory, and contractual compliance.
- Coordinating with Quality team daily to prioritize audits, supporting performance improvement of coders in all service lines.
- Verifying that coders/reviewers are applying current guidelines, implementing regulatory changes, and obtaining additional and/or clarification of documentation from physicians and clinical staff to ensure documentation supports recommendations made by the coder/reviewer during their review process.
- Providing feedback to Quality team on any issues or concerns encountered during the audit process or quality issues found in their review.
- Preparing reports and communicating with Quality team to provide accurate audit data. Ensuring work products are maintained with accuracy that meets or exceeds benchmarks.
- Coordinating with Coding Education team to address coder trends in quality and training needs. Supporting the training of new coders in the training environment.
- Establishing professional and positive relationships with clients
- Participating in agency audits measuring internal accuracy of coding and OASIS review and accuracy of the client's coding and OASIS review
- Ensuring and promoting HIPPA regulations and confidentiality of agency and WellSky business and client proprietary, privileged information
Do you have what it takes?
Required Qualifications:
- 1-2 years related work experience
- Certified in ICD -10 coding for Home Health
Do you stand above the rest?
Preferred Qualifications:
- Oasis certification preferred, or willing to obtain in the first 90 days
