Senior Director, Head of Operational Design Team
What you will do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will be within Global Development Operations (GDO) based at US or UK GDO management location. You will lead and guide the strategy for the Operational Design Team (ODT) to serve as a center of excellence supporting study teams with expertise in study design, global feasibility, country selection, site identification, patient engagement, and enrollment/retention. Drive strategy and execution for data science efforts to improve clinical trial enrollment predictability and speed of execution. And build, develop and manage a high performing team of all roles within the ODT and respond effectively to changing priorities.
Responsibilities:
- Line Management of ODT Directors
- Lead a high performing team of all roles within the ODT to ensure the successful completion and execution of deliverables
- Hire, manage, and effectively allocate resources to meet portfolio needs in line with the prioritized agenda
- Develop and maintain cross-functional global business relationships
- Contribute to functional goal setting and strategies for achievement and to the leadership of the CPO function as a whole, supporting activities to evolve and optimize our larger function
- Provide strategic technical and operational leadership to connect, innovate, and identify areas for process improvement which will advance operational planning capabilities across GDO
- Represent the function by leading initiatives for the continuous improvement
What we expect of you

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree and 5 years of relevant experience
Or
Master’s degree and 8 years of relevant experience
Or
Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- M.D., D.O., PhD, PharmD, MSc
- 11 years work experience in life sciences or medically related field, including 8 years of biopharmaceutical clinical research experience obtained working on clinical trials at a biotech, pharmaceutical or CRO
- 5+ years of people management experience
- Strong understanding of and experience in operationalizing clinical development programs in a global setting
- Strong strategic leadership attributes, ability to consult with key stakeholders at all levels of management
- Ability to inspire, educate, and lead cross-functional colleagues in embracing organizational change
- Scientifically and clinically astute with strong project management and communication skills

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
