Summary:  Join Spectrum Control as a Senior Mechanical Engineer, where you'll spearhead the design of cutting-edge embedded systems and integrated microwave assemblies. Utilize your expertise in 3D CAD modeling, computational fluid dynamics analysis, and finite element analysis to develop robust mechanical modules while collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout the product development lifecycle. If you're passionate about pushing the boundaries of mechanical engineering and enjoy solving complex problems, this role offers a dynamic opportunity for growth and innovation.

Job Functions:

  • Design robust mechanical modules and subsystems incorporating mixed signal RF and digital electronics using 3D CAD software.
  • Utilize computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis to simulate thermal performance of designs to ensure compliance with thermal requirements.
  • Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) to perform frequency, structural, and static studies on modules and subsystems to determine resonant frequencies, stress, strain, and fatigue life.
  • Generate detailed fabrication drawings incorporating geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Develop thorough assembly instructions, bill of materials (BOMs), and test reports for designs.
  • Assist in preparation and submission of data packages and contract deliverable reports.
  • Support engineering requests from various functional areas, including Manufacturing, Procurement, and Quality.
  • Collaborate with systems, PCB layout, and RF engineers in cross-functional teams throughout product development lifecycles.
  • Evaluate customer proposals to assess the feasibility of the mechanical design and contribute expertise in refining requirements to ensure successful implementation.

  • Expertise in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards
  • Knowledge of MIL-STDs, VITA Standards, and NASA Standards preferred
  • Skilled in Root Cause Analysis for effective problem-solving
  • Familiarity with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles
  • Strong team player with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and communication with colleagues and customers
