Job Title: AV Engineer

Schedule: Monday – Friday, Weekends as required
Hours: Full-time, 40-hours/week

Clearance: Secret clearance required with ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI
Position Summary
The Audio Visual (AV) Engineer will provide AV support to RavenTek’s DoD and Civilian customers throughout the United States including but not limited to configuring, programming, repairing, and testing AV equipment, as well as providing appropriate training. The performance of this position is key to RavenTek’s performance and therefore RavenTek’s mission to support our customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Surveying, planning, developing, designing, configuring and testing multi-class AV solutions for the DoD and Civilian customers.
- Documenting and negotiating system requirements with customers.
- Developing full AV system list of materials.
- Creating technical standards, processes, and procedures.
- Developing touch panel design and GUI mockup.
- Providing full AV system training and user guides to onsite personnel.
- Must be able to travel to various job sites as needed.
- Technical coordination and leadership of onsite sub-contractors and vendors.
- Performing in-house testing and on-site commissioning at client locations.
- Ensuring programming meets system requirements and capabilities.
- Enter actual time worked, once complete, at the end of the day, or no later than 10:00 a.m. the following workday, and submit timesheets at the end of each pay period.
- Monitor and respond to RavenTek email a minimum of 3 times per week.
- Complete required compliance training as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Critical Skills
- Proficient in control system design (Creston/Extron).
- Proficient in uploading and downloading software in embedded systems.
- Proficient in programming languages for AV Systems is desired.
- Proficient in system design using AutoCAD and Visio.
- Hands-on experience with control systems, videoconferencing, switching hardware, audio DSP setup, and calibration.
- Ability to multitask, work independently, and handle multiple projects at once.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly with a customer focus.
Education & Work Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or 5 years additional relevant experience in lieu of degree.
- Minimum of 5 years of Creston or Extron control system programming experience.
Certifications, Licenses
- CTS-D certification required.
- CTS-I certification desired.
- Extron or Creston certifications desired.
Special Requirements
- Secret clearance required with the ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI.
Work Environment
Employee will be working indoors in an office environment with other people. Potential moderate temperature fluctuations. Typical indoor and computer related noise level, and typical office, paper, and equipment related dust. Exposure to video display terminals occurs on a regular basis.
Physical Demands
To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, the employee needs to be able to sit at a workstation for extended periods; use hand(s) to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; see to read printed materials and computer screens; mobility to work in a typical office setting. The ability to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, stoop, and climb will be required for this position. Ability to work on desktop or laptop computer for extended periods of time reading, reviewing/analyzing information, and may be required to provide recommendations, summaries and/or reports in written format. Must be able to effectively communicate with others verbally and in writing. Employee must be able to lift and/or move moderate amounts of weight, typically up to 40 pounds. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
