Community Labor Administrative Services, Inc. is a non-stock not-for profit company offering a range of administrative services to a wide portfolio of clients in both the Non-Profit Sector and the world of American Progressive Politics. 

Organization Overview:
Community-Labor Administrative Services, Inc. (CLASI) is a nonprofit corporation that provides comprehensive administrative services to a variety of clients and fiscally sponsored projects. We serve a diverse client base, including nonprofit (c)(3)s and (c)(4)s, corporations, LLCs, and political action committees (PACs). CLASI+ is an initiative focused on fostering high-functioning, resilient organizations through best-in-class services that support labor-management partnerships and organizational growth.

Position Overview:
The Onboarding Specialist plays a key role in both onboarding new clients and building community among participating organizations. This individual will facilitate onboarding sessions and training built on a strong grounding in adult learning theory and ensure that all materials are accessible and effective for diverse audiences. In addition, they will serve as the initial point of contact for clients interested in becoming part of CLASI+, collect relevant information about them and guide them through the fit assessment process. They will also develop training plans and materials to teach organizations about new systems and services, including conflict transformation and management skills.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Initial Contact and Fit Assessment:
  • Serve as the first point of contact for clients expressing interest in joining CLASI+.
  • Develop and manage a process for vetting and onboarding new organizations, including regular updates and communication with potential organizations throughout the evaluation phase.
  • Share collected information with an internal committee and facilitate the evaluation process to determine whether the organization aligns with CLASI+’s values and services.
  • Regularly connect with leadership of new clients to guide them through the intake process including by clarifying what kind of information CLASI+ needs from them
  • Help new clients access information they may need to evaluate whether CLASI+ is right for them
  • Client Onboarding and Integration:
  • Facilitate onboarding sessions for new organizations, ensuring that materials and presentations are designed with adult learning theory in mind to engage diverse learners effectively.
  • Develop customized onboarding plans for each organization, ensuring seamless integration into CLASI’s administrative systems, including payroll, benefits, compliance, and performance management.
  • Create and maintain clear documentation for onboarding processes and client expectations, ensuring that all onboarding activities are compliant with applicable laws and organizational policies.
  • Training Development and Facilitation:
  • Develop and deliver key training around conflict transformation, management skills, and labor-management collaboration, ensuring that the curriculum is rooted in adult learning principles.
  • Create and implement training plans to educate clients on new systems and services offered by CLASI+, including technology platforms, compliance requirements, and organizational governance processes.
  • Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, making adjustments based on participant feedback and emerging needs.
  • Community Building and Relationship Management:
  • Foster collaboration and build a sense of community between client organizations and fiscally sponsored projects by designing and facilitating workshops and other activities.
  • Encourage client participation in CLASI+ services and initiatives, such as conflict resolution systems, labor-management collaboration, and compliance programs.
  • Serve as a liaison between clients and CLASI’s internal teams, providing ongoing support and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Compliance, Documentation, and Continuous Improvement:
  • Ensure that all onboarding and client assessment activities are compliant with relevant legal and organizational requirements.
  • Oversee maintenance of accurate records and documentation for each client, ensuring that all stages of the onboarding and evaluation processes are properly tracked and reported.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Client Services and other internal teams to continuously improve onboarding and training processes, ensuring alignment with CLASI+’s values and goals.
  • Collaborate with other staff to ensure accurate and timely information is shared with organizational leaders and other CLASI staff.

  • Skills and Qualifications:
  • At least 7 years of experience in any of the following areas: client onboarding, training facilitation, curriculum development, or adult education, preferably in the nonprofit or labor sector.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning theory and experience in designing and delivering training for diverse audiences.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in coordination with individuals and stakeholders at all levels; 
  • Strategic planning, prioritizes and organizes tasks with excellent follow through and follow up. Maintains focus and effectively executes, while managing multiple tasks and moving parts. Skilled at creating and using systems to track deadlines and manage time efficiently.  
  • Experienced in project management tools and processes. The ideal candidate will have experience in implementation and administration of new tools and systems for team-wide use and ensuring effective use of the tool. 
  • A strong sense of ownership and responsibility including identifying gaps and areas of need and proactively seeking solutions, highly responsive with excellent follow-through and follow-up.
  • A close attention to detail, easily uncovers errors, is diligent in checking work for accuracy and completeness; has high-standards for quality.
  • Experience with labor-management partnerships, collective bargaining agreements, and conflict resolution is a plus.
  • High comfort and strong understanding of administrative tools and communication platforms, including Google Suite, Slack, Concur, Zoom, Excel, and CRMs.
  • Deep and demonstrated commitment to racial, gender, and economic justice.

  • Compensation: The final salary for this role will be determined based on our Pay Scale, which takes into consideration years of experience, geographic location, and final job description. The upper end of the salary range is reserved for individuals who significantly exceed the minimum qualifications and years of experience. The final salary offer will fall into one of the following ranges depending on where you live:
  • National Market (most locations): $80,000$110,250
  • High Market (e.g., Denver, Portland, Sacramento): $92,000$120,750
  • Very High Market (e.g., New York, San Francisco, Boston): $100,000 $131,250
  • The locations listed above are just examples and not an exhaustive list.

  • Location and Travel: You may work remotely from anywhere in the United States. You may need to travel for major events and all staff meetings a few times per year.
