Chief Academic Officer (CAO)

 

📌 Position Title: Chief Academic Officer (CAO)

🌍 Location: Remote - United States

💰 Salary: DOE

⏰ Working Rhythm: Full-time, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Time, Monday to Friday. Flexibility is required for international operations.

📝 Contract Type: This is a full-time,permanent position. 

🤝 Reporting to: CEO

📅 Start Date: January 2025

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a strategic vision and plan for how Nexford’s academic model and
    offerings will evolve based on current and future global trends including adoption of artificial
    intelligence
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction to the academic operations teams who support
    learners including Success Advisors, Admissions, and Faculty
  • Partner with other stakeholders to continuously drive innovation and adoption of technology
    across the academic operation toward improving learner retention and outcomes
  • Develop and oversee all academic policies and procedures to meet those policies, often in
    close coordination with our VP of Compliance
  • Conduct a cycle of continuous improvement initiatives and program evaluation based on
    institutional data, market needs, and learner outcomes


Skills and Qualifications:

  • An earned doctorate from an accredited institution is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a senior leadership role within online higher education.
  • Proven ability to lead diverse teams and foster collaboration across academic operations, including Success Advisors, Admissions, and Faculty.
  • Strong track record in driving innovation in higher education, particularly through the adoption of technology and data-driven decision-making.
  • Experience partnering with compliance teams and managing accreditation processes in a higher education setting.
  • A high degree of accountability, transparency, and the ability to execute with urgency.
