Job description

Hudson Global Scholars is an online education services provider to private schools and families. We partner with schools to go online safely and efficiently. We enable schools to use their own resources and staff, backed by HGS expertise, faculty, curriculum, and technology. We present a flexible program that meets the changing needs of schools now and in the future. HGS operates a variety of accredited online schools that provide partners and families with compatible education, affiliation, and articulation.

We are seeking a full-time STEM Teacher for Monday through Friday daytime courses.

The Hudson Global Scholars Teacher is a highly qualified and experienced educator responsible for delivering specific course content in an online learning environment.  Teachers provide both live, interactive instructional sessions (via Zoom), and as well as facilitative, asynchronous instructional support to students enrolled in K-12 courses.  Hudson Global Scholars administers several different types of academic programs and models (secular and faith-based), both domestically and internationally.  As a result, teachers have a unique opportunity to work and interact with students across the globe within a completely virtual setting!

Full-time teachers at Hudson Global Scholars collaborate within a collegial network of full and part-time colleagues that collectively meet the dynamic needs of the organization by managing caseloads of courses/sections (live and/or asynchronous) and serving as substitutes to fulfill internal teaching vacancies (planned and on-demand) throughout the year.  Full-time teachers maintain a full caseload but also work with Academic Managers and department leaders to complete special projects upon request, as schedules permit (varies based on seasonal needs).  It is also expected that full-time teachers serve as the content and instructional expert/point-person for their given area of subject expertise, and supply, share, and demonstrate best practices of instructional application within the field.

Responsibilities

  • Provide synchronous, facilitative, instructional support for students enrolled in online STEM courses

  • Complete special projects, as assigned, and adhere to project deadlines
  • Demonstrate high levels of professionalism when interacting with students, colleagues, and clients
  • Serve as an ambassador for Hudson Global Scholars by providing prompt and informative responses to students and families, demonstrating punctuality with on-time and prepared arrivals for live sessions, honoring schedules, meeting deadlines, and providing advance notification and escalation of issues that may interfere with the high-quality delivery of instructional programs
  • Serve as subject-area instructional expert; support the implementation of instruction best practices within the assigned area of expertise; coach and support colleagues to improve overall quality and execution of Hudson Global Scholars programs

A personal commitment to the Catholic faith is not required; however, as a teacher in this environment, you should never speak against any religious beliefs or constructs.
