Job Summary:
The Corporate Project Engineer IV will execute various projects at our Commercial manufacturing facilities throughout the organization. The Corporate Project Engineer IV is responsible for working collaboratively in a cross functional design team to execute boots on the ground projects in an efficient and effective manner through expert application of engineering design techniques and principles. The Project Engineer IV will work closely with the plants to schedule, plan, help support forecasting resources and manage all the technical activities to ensure project accuracy and quality from cradle to the grave for CAPEX. project work. In the design team the Project Engineer IV will function as an electrical & controls S.M.E. related to the Allen Bradley products, and be able to program similar to the level of a controls engineer. That way during project commissioning we have like minded talents available to troubleshoot issues in the design team, and in the commercial controls engineering team. This will provide improved programming & operational support for project commissioning windows. The experience required for this position is described in greater detail below.
Essential Duties
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Be able to identify controls opportunities within the plants to accelerate continuous improvement from a controls point of view.
- Strive to identify, design, and execute controls projects that will continue to minimize costly plant downtime, and/or improve safety.
- Provide hands on controls system support related to auxiliary power systems, digital devices, and production drive systems.
- Must be proficient in various communication protocols, such as ethernet IP, profibus, and modbus and also be able to troubleshoot, and set up these devices.
- Troubleshoot complex controls systems using tools such as oscilloscope, trending software (setup historian trends/IBA high speed analyzer) and studio 5000 trends.
- Interface with Commercial Controls Engineering to ensure controls vision matches the desired output identified by internal customers.
- Conduct engineering and project analysis to ensure drawing package, logic development and equipment assembly supports the desired output of internal customers.
- Follow through with major and minor project recommendations, justification and implementation.
- Manage primary aspects of major projects including design construction, vendor management, cost tracking, procurement, operational interfaces and operations preparation, and startup.
- Coordinate between contractors, vendors, and GAF to manage, engineer, and implement projects in the smoothest and most efficient manner without causing production delays or upsets.
- Lead/participate in cross-functional corporate and plant D.A. (decision analysis) opportunities to improve and expand GAF’s processes and products, and business opportunities
- Work within a cross functional team to ensure projects are supported from cradle to grave including start-up and commissioning. Focused on a detailed hand off to our production customers.

- Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of production and office machinery
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
Under This Roof, We Require
- A Bachelor of Science
- 7+ years experience in an engineering discipline in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to travel 50%.

- Demonstrated knowledge of engineering techniques, advanced proficiency in Google Suite, RS Logix and Rockwell Automation training.

Annual Salary Range: 126,000-161,000
