About the role

As the Operations Manager for our Mackay depot, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of logistics and transport operations for our handling area. This position is focused on enhancing depot performance, ensuring high standards of safety and compliance, and driving efficient freight handling and distribution processes. You will oversee the team and day to days operations to ensure successful end-to-end service delivery

What you’ll do

  • Oversee daily depot operations, including freight scheduling, routing, and fleet management.

  • Implement and uphold safety standards, ensuring all activities comply with regulatory and company requirements.

  • Manage depot staffing levels, training, and performance, fostering a positive and productive workplace.

  • Develop, monitor, and report on KPIs related to delivery timelines, service quality, and operational efficiency.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate logistics for regional and interstate distribution.

  • Identify and address operational challenges proactively, implementing solutions to streamline processes.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize depot performance and enhance customer satisfaction.

  • Ensure clear communication with stakeholders and clients regarding logistics and delivery timelines.

  • Maintain accurate records and oversee documentation for compliance with transport and logistics regulations.

What you’ll bring

  • 5+ years of experience in transport, logistics, or supply chain operations in team lead or supervisory capacity.

  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with a results-driven approach.

  • In-depth knowledge of transport and logistics regulations, safety standards, and WHS compliance.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Relevant qualifications in logistics, transport management, or business are advantageous.
