Job description

This is a remote position.

Role is now open to a Remote Work Setting - Must reside currently in the US on the East Coast in an approved state.

Our client is actively seeking to add an Application Engineer (DfAM) to their team that will be responsible for driving sales growth within the 3D printing industry by supporting clients and the sales team in all technical aspects of the sales pursuit process. This role requires a passion for technology and innovation, as well as the ability to understand customer needs and provide solutions. The ideal candidate should have deep technical experience in design for additive manufacturing (DfAM), excellent communication skills, and a high level of technical proficiency in the 3D engineering, design, and possess a resume complete with customer facing experiences. A portion of compensation will be tied directly to sales achievements and revenue produced.

The Application Engineer will provide guidance and technical support to our client's sales team and customers on material  election for projects; lead customer design for additive (DfAM) projects; solve customer application issues; and conduct training and lead workshops for customers.

Duties/Responsibilities:

•  Lead the development of new products working with customers and the sales team
•  Perform engineering drawing reviews and provide final approval for manufacturing
•  Provide technical expertise and guidance to customers to help them choose the right products and
services for their needs
•  Perform engineering drawing reviews and provide final approval for manufacturing
•  Prepare and deliver technical presentations and proposals to potential clients
•  Prepare and deliver technical presentations to audiences inside and outside of the
industry
•  Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the company's products and services
•  Conduct market research to identify industry trends and customer needs
•  Attend industry events and conferences to stay up-to-date with industry trends and network with
potential clients



Requirements

•  DfAM expertise on both polymer and metal applications
•  Demonstrated product development experience and acumen from pre-concept to completion
•  Strong technical proficiency in 3D printing technology and software
•  Reverse engineering capabilities (preferably with Keyence Scanners)
•  Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
•  Proactive and solution-oriented mindset
•  Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
•  Strong organizational and time-management skills

Education and Experience:
•  Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or similar technical discipline
•  4+ years of experience in Application Engineering or a similar role
•  Experience with DFAM and CAD software


Physical Requirements:
•  Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
•  Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
