See Yourself as a VP, Product Development

As the VP, Product Development, you are responsible for residential mortgage loan credit guidelines' lifecycles from concept to launch to ongoing enhancement. You will partner with cross functional business leaders to continuously evaluate both new product opportunities and existing products, and identify solutions that drive Radian Mortgage Capital's (RMC) growth, profitability, and risk mitigation goals.

This role is specifically seeking candidates with experience in residential mortgage loan underwriting guideline development!

See Your Primary Duties And Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update RMC loan program/underwriting guides to support business growth and competitiveness within credit risk, financing, and liquidity requirements. Monitor GSE and competitor guideline changes and regulatory changes, obtain customer and Sales product feedback, and update RMC guides as appropriate.
  • Analyze new and existing investor program/underwriting guidelines and outline alignment with RMC programs. Support Secondary in determining best execution alternatives based on investor credit eligibility.
  • Analyze Seller/Client non-agency program/underwriting guidelines for suitability within RMC’s credit box and establish overlays as needed.
  • Manage new product research and development. Collaborate with cross functional teams to prepare comprehensive new product proposals including proforma volume and P&L and assessments of competition, buy and sell pricing, sales strategy, credit risk, financing, liquidity, distribution options, process/technology impact, etc.
  • Manage implementation of new and updated products/programs including process and technology changes, guideline development, warehouse financing implications, client communications, sales support, etc. Collaborate with stakeholders, including Secondary, Operations, Technology, Risk, Compliance, and Sales, to ensure seamless execution. Provide updates on progress and issues to stakeholders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or apparent.

Your Basic Education And Prior Work-Related Experience

Degree Requirement: Bachelor’s degree or Equivalent Experience

Work Experience: 10 years of prior work related experience

Additional Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years in mortgage banking, with at least 5 years in mortgage loan product development roles.
  • Minimum 3 years underwriting experience, or equivalent obtained through other roles, with deep understanding of agency and non-agency mortgage product underwriting guidelines.
  • End to end knowledge of mortgage banking from origination through secondary marketing with strong knowledge of the mortgage conduit/aggregator/correspondent business.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Proven track record of delivering successful product development initiatives that drive revenue growth.
  • Proficient at analyzing data to drive decision making and in developing proforma product volume/profitability projections.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of an organization.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making ability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel to our Denver, CO and/or Wayne, PA offices as needed.
