Position Overview:

As the Vice President, Sustainability for the FIFA World Cup 2026TM, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing initiatives that promote environmental sustainability and social responsibility within the tournament’s operations and legacy. This strategic role will be responsible for cross functional coordination oversees strategy, governance and reporting of environmental sustainability. This role will ensure that the event not only delivers a world-class football experience but also adheres to high ethical standards regarding sustainability. You will collaborate with multiple stakeholders, including local and international partners, governmental organizations, and internal departments, to ensure these goals are met.

Key Responsibilities:

Sustainability Strategy Development and Execution:

  • Lead the development and execution of climate strategies for the World Cup, ensuring alignment with FIFA's global environmental goals and the host cities' priorities.

  • Oversee initiatives that reduce the carbon footprint of the tournament, such as waste management, energy efficiency, water conservation, and sustainable transportation. Collaborate with stadium operators and local authorities to ensure eco-friendly materials, maintenance, and operations of the venues.

    • Document all standards and required actions for pre, during and post event requirements.  With focus on Procurement, Human Rights, Climate Action, Waste, Delivery, and Data Collection.

Sourcing and Procurement:

  • Work with procurement and delivery functional leaders to ensure all procured services, goods, and equipment are sourced in line with FIFA requirements.

  • Build strategic partnerships with environmental and social advocacy organizations to promote best practices and foster a collaborative approach to tournament operations.

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure that the tournament adheres to all local, national, and international regulations related to sustainability, social responsibility, and labor practices.

  • Develop science-based targets, manage data collection, support the development dashboards, reports and presentations to communicate progress to the various stakeholders and leadership

  • Monitor progress towards sustainability, and report regularly to FIFA’s executive committee, sponsors, and other relevant parties.

    • Develop detailed reports on sustainability outcomes post-tournament, providing a roadmap for future events.

Legacy Planning:

  • Lead efforts to ensure that the FIFA World Cup 2026 leaves a positive, lasting legacy in terms of environmental stewardship, infrastructure development, and community inclusion.

  • Plan post-tournament programs that support continued sustainability in the host cities and regions.

Key Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, International Relations, Public Policy, Business Administration, Social Sciences, or related fields preferred but not required.

  • Experience:

    • 10+ years of experience in sustainability, social inclusion, or corporate social responsibility (CSR), with at least 3 years in a leadership or executive role.

    • Track record of driving successful sustainability initiatives and diversity programs in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.

    • Proven success working in a multi-location event with high connection to the key stakeholders as well as multiple governing bodies.

  • Skills:

    • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.

    • Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

    • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

    • Ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines.

    • Knowledge of sustainability reporting frameworks and inclusion standards.

  • Cultural Sensitivity:

    •  Strong understanding of and respect for diverse cultures, with a commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion on a global scale.

    • Ability to have extensive travel.

Hiring pay rates are based on a number of factors, including location and may vary depending on job-related qualifications, knowledge, skills and experience.  Endeavor strives to provide locally competitive rewards packages, which include base rate along with, as applicable, short- and long-term incentives, growth and developmental opportunities, and robust benefits, such as health care, retirement, vacation and other paid time off, and additional offerings.


Hiring Range Minimum:

$150,000 annually

Hiring Range Maximum:

$200,000 annually
