A Brief Overview
The Productivity & Quality Operations Manager reports to the Director of Professional Billing Organization and provides a wide variety of regular and reoccurring, moderately complex analyses to identify areas for potential productivity improvement projects based on statistical data. Maintains, develops, and publishes metrics for measuring productivity and pinpoints areas of delays and interruptions that cause loss of productivity. The Operations Manager works directly with the PBO Manager(s) and Sr. Manager to drive operational and strategic change and is accountable for summarizing productivity and quality data to improve productivity measures and quality control. The Operations Manager will manage a team of specialists to provide and summarize productivity and quality reports to the PBO Managers for each Patient Account Representative.

What you will do
  • Operations Manager will manage a team of specialists that will gather, refine and package data to distribute to PBO Managers, Sr. Manager and Director, as it relates to Productivity and Quality measures and recommendations.
  • Operations Manager will work directly with the Managers to identify areas for growth within their team, and work with them and HR on any staff-related performance issues.
  • Understands operational workflows and capable of analyzing automation potential, whilst leading work autonomously.
  • Provides leadership for large strategic and cross-functional workflow initiatives by defining existing processes, and recommended solutions to streamline operations, engaging stakeholders and managing timelines and deliverables.
  • Develops best practices within Patient Financial Services for how to operationalize new workflows with a focus on scale and automation.
  • Gathers, interprets, and uses complex data to develop actionable steps that will improve processes and optimize results. Provides this data to Managers and works directly with them to make determinations about work balance, operational improvements, and provide training and communication as needed.
  • Pinpoint areas of delays and interruptions that cause loss of productivity.
  • Implements systems and programs to automate tasks and processes.
  • Builds positive working relationships across Revenue Cycle; engages effectively with staff, management and senior leadership in project work.
  • Guides the Professional Billing Office leadership in identifying program initiatives in alignment with PBO’s strategic objections. This includes working closely with Managers to set priorities for team or unit to ensure task completion, coordination of work activities with other departments; monitors daily productivity metrics.
  • Develop process standard work and documentation; coordinate with Training team to formalize and keep up to date.
  • Performs detailed analysis of revenue cycle performance to identify trends, patterns and root causes
  • Delivers summary findings of analysis for department leadership review, including presentations of monthly project updates.
  • Utilizes a strong understanding of Revenue Cycle applications, operational workflows, and regulatory policies to assist in analytic evaluations.
  • Provides analytics for and supports special projects as needed.

Education Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a work-related field/discipline from an accredited college or university or
  • Two years of progressively responsible and directly-related work experience.

  • Knowledge of billing procedures and third-party payer claims processing requirements.
  • Knowledge of information system and software relating to accounts receivables management and billing.
  • Knowledge of local, state and federal regulatory requirement related to the functional area.
  • Knowledge of analytical research procedures and methods.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including strong knowledge or expertise of Excel.
  • Expertise in using large amounts of data for form conclusions and make recommendations.
  • Ability to summarize complex data in a clear and concise way for the Senior Management team.

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $54.22 - $71.84 per hour

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
