Job Description/ Responsibilities
• Excellent understanding of System z architecture
• Excellent experience with zVM
• Experience in building Mainframe LPAR and OS Upgrades
• Knowledge Catalog management, IBM system utilities
• Knowledge on VTAM, TCPIP, ACF2 and GDPS
• Experience on z/VM and z/Linux
• Installation of patches and fixes
• Installation and maintenance of ISV products, REXX, RMF, SMF
• Administration and configuration of z/VM Operating Systems running SuSE or RedHat Linux
• Installation and customization of z/VM and related IBM or other ISV software;
• Extensive experience with providing performance and tuning using monitoring tools (f. ex. z/VM Performance Monitor or other tools);
• DIRMAINT administration – RACF/Top secret administration;
• REXX knowledge - SSI knowledge;
• Ability to support network configuration and maintenance (Real TCP/IP stack, VSWITCH, TCPIP tools in z/VM, etc.);
• Solid skills in z/Linux system cloning and configuration including memory and file system allocation;
• System parameters/parmlib maintenance
• Managing incidents on z/VM related issues
• z/OS performance monitoring and reporting
