Symetra has an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Associate Benefits Operations Analyst!

About The Role

I n this role you will be responsible for Benefit Operations functions involving new and in-force Group Benefits Products. As an Associate BOA, you'll develop a thorough understanding of group benefits products, operations, and the Symetra organization. You’ll work with experienced Operations Analysts as well as independently on day-to-day activities and documentation of new and existing processes. You will also develop the ability to effectively support a project to successful completion .

What you will do

  • Create and administer contracts, certificates, administration agreements, amendments of in force contract, and other contract documents for workforce benefits and medical stop loss products to include policy holder list bill updates, renewals, agent of record, etc.
  • Obtain and maintain advanced knowledge of products, procedures/processes, industry and company rules regarding pre-sale, policy set up and issue, renewals, revision, amendments etc.
  • Provide service and support to underwriting, product partners, and field sales/service staff
  • Lead and facilitate unit projects business continuity planning maintenance and updating of SOX partner with internal and external auditors
  • Identify and implement ideas to improve efficiency
  • Facilitate and collaborate with others on operations-based projects that will focus on system changes, process improvements, product enhancements and launches, legal and compliance updates, and other department responsibilities
  • System support and testing, responsible for User Acceptance Testing for new and existing system enhancements for your functional area and product line
  • Provide technical training support and daily production support as needed for both internal and external teams
  • Generate and analyze contracts and agreements, reporting and metrics, analytics, and auditing in support of measuring group operations productivity and effectiveness and in support of internal business partners, including but not limited to; Finance, Sales, Compliance

Compensation

Hourly Range: $23.23-38.71 plus eligibility for annual bonus program

Who You Are

  • 2-5 years' experience in group insurance
  • High school diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Customer service mentality with strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong Planning, Prioritizing, Organizational skills
  • Detail orientation with high level of accuracy
  • Learn and apply rules and guides
  • Multi-task and deliver results in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
  • Demonstrate initiative and self-motivation skills
  • Proficient technical skills and knowledge of Microsoft applications, Word, Excel and Access and Adobe Acrobat
