Job Overview

We are pleased to introduce an exceptional opportunity for a dedicated and knowledgeable Operations Consultant specializing in Nuclear Power Plants. This remote position offers you the chance to significantly influence the future of nuclear energy projects by providing essential training, support, and strategic planning for program development initiatives, all while ensuring adherence to the industry’s regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver in-depth training and development for employees engaged in program development, focusing on the identification and prioritization of relevant programs to mitigate regulatory challenges.
  • Collaborate effectively with a team of managers and supervisors to design and implement innovative nuclear programs that enhance the commercial operations of next-generation projects, ensuring alignment with NRC, NEI, EPRI, and other authoritative standards.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders to maintain a positive industry reputation, contributing valuable insights to business proposals and RFPs.
  • Execute long-range planning, establishing clear goals and milestones, while managing resources efficiently to meet project objectives.
  • Offer mentorship and guidance to supervisors and individual contributors, fostering their professional development and growth.

Required Skills

  • Proficient in navigating complex objectives within uncertain environments.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of applicable regulations, including CFR, Regulatory Guides, INPO Guides, and industry standards.
  • Familiarity with procedural compliance requirements and nuclear plant program standards.
  • Understanding of budgeting principles, alongside experience in budget development and oversight.
  • Extensive knowledge of nuclear power plant operations and advanced engineering methodologies.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office Suite with the ability to produce effective documentation for programs.
  • Strong organizational abilities to manage personal work activities and program descriptions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for collaboration with peers, supervisors, and external agencies.
  • Capacity for self-directed learning and the ability to swiftly grasp new technical information and concepts.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field from an accredited institution, coupled with a minimum of ten years of relevant experience in operations, maintenance, and/or technical roles within the nuclear industry.
  • Alternatively, an associate degree in engineering or a related technical field with at least twelve years of combined experience in operations, maintenance, and/or technical roles.
  • Previous RO/SRO license, SRO certification, Senior Operator qualification, or station management certification in the nuclear sector is preferred.
  • Demonstrable consulting experience within the nuclear industry.
  • Familiarity with nuclear operations, training methodologies, quality assurance, and maintenance programs.

Compensation

  • Pay Range: \(100 to \)110 per hour. The final compensation will reflect various factors, including educational background, work experience, job location, specific responsibilities, and certifications.
