Overview

Make an Impact!

At McGraw Hill we create best-in-class, next-generation learning platforms that are used by millions of students and educators worldwide from kindergarten through graduate school. Our goal is to accelerate student success through intuitive and effective learning tools and content that maximize a teacher’s time and a student’s learning experience. We do all of this in a supportive, collaborative environment where you can grow your career in a way that fits into your life.

How can you make an impact?

We are seeking a talented Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in layout, page composition, illustration, and brand-compliant design for product sample packaging and various marketing collateral within a campaign. This role requires a designer with a keen eye for detail, the ability to illustrate within layouts to enhance visual impact, and the ability to work efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of design quality.

This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States. This is a Project Status Worker (PSW) role.

What you will be doing:

  • Design and produce print materials such as product sample packaging and marketing collateral, ensuring that all design elements are brand-compliant.
  • Handle layout and page composition with precision, paying close attention to the alignment of text, images, and branding across multiple pieces of collateral.
  • Illustrate within layouts to enhance visual impact, ensuring illustrations complement overall design aesthetics while maintaining consistency across all materials.
  • Comprehend content and context thoughtfully to ensure that design choices enhance the overall message, while maintaining consistency across a series of materials.
  • Problem-solve independently, while adhering to brand guidelines and the established style.
  • Collaborate with managers and team members to develop and implement creative ideas and solutions.
  • Communicate rationale behind design decisions and incorporate feedback effectively.
  • Problem-solve creative challenges with a solutions-oriented approach.
  • Familiarity with Figma for web and digital design, including wireframing, prototyping, and collaboration within design teams.
  • Familiarity with Adobe After Effects for lightly animated social media and display ads.
  • Familiarity with Basecamp and SmartSheet.

We are looking for someone with…

  • Established Portfolio
  • Expertise in Adobe InDesign
  • Proficient skills in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator, with the ability to create and incorporate illustrations as needed
  • Strong knowledge of print production processes, including file setup and output.
  • Excellent file organization skills, ensuring assets are easily accessible for team collaboration
  • Conceptual design skills

The pay range for this position is between $50,000-$64,000 annually, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
