As part of the Gas Power One Field Services team, FieldCore installs, maintains and upgrades power generation equipment, enabling operators of the world’s energy infrastructure to provide more reliable and affordable energy.
Job Summary:
The Operator monitors device operation and power production locally. Makes rounds, checking the condition of all operating machinery. Records operating data in logs, maintains records. Starts stops and operates device in accordance with site Operating Procedures and per the direction of the control room operator and Shift Supervisor. Helps maintaining power output to meet system demand without exceeding machinery’s design capacity. Helping out shift supervisor in carrying out Isolations/de-isolation as and when required. Escorts, observes and supervises performance of contractors to ensure compliance with Site Safety Procedures. Keeps site clear of all fire or other safety hazards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain a log of all the field activities carried out during his shift
- Coordinate with control room operator in safe isolation of device for preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Reads and record meters and gauges or automatic recording devices at specified intervals to verify operating conditions.
- Record data such as temperature of device, hours of operation, temperature or pressure, and fluid levels.
- Open and close valves as required for proper system operation and mechanical isolation.
- Open and close circuit breakers for proper system operation and electrical isolation.
- Coordinate with control room operator to diagnose malfunctions in machinery and device and effectively communicate with the control room operator & Shift Supervisor during plant normal and emergency situation
- Discuss with control room operator and shift supervisor, measures to improve production methods, device performance and quality of product.
- Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problems.
- Raise work orders for required operational preventative and corrective maintenance.
- Read and understand technical manuals and system piping and instrumentation diagrams.
- Read, understand, and ensure compliance with all plant safety and regulatory procedures.
- Perform the duties of control room operator under specific instructions of the plant management.
- Keep clean, repair and maintain power plant device.
- Understand OH&S risks / hazards and environmental / legislative aspect / impacts related to work activities.
- Be responsible for housekeeping of his assigned plant area.
- Travel extensively (internationally and domestically)
- Ability and willingness to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments

Required Qualifications & Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years related work experience at combined cycle power plant preferably having GE F Class Technology
- English proficiency required

- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively to employees of the organization
