Detailed description of the mission :

Within the Industrial Safety department, you will be integrated into the HSE Design team composed of Industrial Safety, Risk Quantification and Environment & Health engineers to work on issues related to the prevention, control and protection against industrial risks on projects developed by Technip Energies (oil and gas, petrochemicals, hydrogen, ammonia, mining & metals, etc.). pharmaceuticals, renewable energies).

Your main contacts will be the HSE Design team, but also other Technip Energies disciplines such as Process, Piping, Civil Engineering, Instrumentation, Electricity, etc.

The main missions will be based on several technical subjects that are part of the Industrial Security profession:

  • Risk Analyses including the identification of critical elements of the installation,
  • Participation in the development of site plans,
  • Classification of hazardous areas/ATEX,
  • Active fire protection (sizing of the fire pumping system, studies of the mesh network and deluge systems, hydraulic calculations, etc.),
  • Passive fire protection,
  • Protection against cryogenic leaks,
  • Fire and Gas Detection (flammable and toxic),
  • The protection of personnel, evacuation and safety of life at sea,
  • Specifications and purchases of firefighting, personnel protection and backup equipment, including the comparison of sellers' offers and follow-up of documentation,


OR multidisciplinary technical topics such as drainage, electrical insulation of the installation in case of confirmed detection, etc.

Depending on the opportunities, you will be:

  • Involved in research and development activities (e.g. criteria for identifying critical elements of the installation, drainage, etc.),
  • Assigned to project(s) to carry out safety engineering studies.


Objectives of the mission :

An increase in skills during the internship through:

  • Working methods/organization (rigor, multicultural teamwork, information seeking, analysis/problem solving, ability to synthesize, autonomy, initiative),
  • Work processes and basic rules for quality,
  • Technical references (international norms and standards and customer rules) and calculation tools related to the field of Industrial Safety,
  • Discovery of engineering, Technip Energies, the Processes and Technologies Division, the HSED Industrial Safety departments,
  • The discovery of certain processes implemented (the types of processes will depend on the opportunities for assignment to projects).


Profile :

  • Student at the end of the engineering school cycle with training in Industrial Risks or Process Engineering (Ecole des Mines d'Alès-EMA, ISTG Grenoble, INSA Rouen, INSA Centre-Val-de-Loire, ENSIC, UTC, ENSIACET, ENSI Bourges etc., Master's degree in Industrial Risks: EMA, ENSCPB, etc. or the Ecoles des Mines group).
  • A very good level of English is required as your tutor will likely be an English speaker.
  • Motivated, you are recognized for your autonomy, proactivity, dynamism, rigor and good team spirit. You speak good technical English, and have an excellent command of the office pack.
  • Knowledge of hazardous phenomena and their modelling (desirable)
