Project Overview
Bechtel is seeking to work with a major Indian corporation to provide Project Management Consultant (PMC) Services for a multi-billion dollar renewables and its infrastructure project in India. The PMC Services will be led out of India with personnel deployed in Mumbai, India.
Job Summary
The Hydrology Engineering Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and partnering the work of contractors providing engineering services related to external flooding, site drainage, and stormwater management. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in hydrologic analysis and hydraulic design of infrastructure associated with renewable solar energy projects. The position will report to Project Engineer, include supervision of direct reports, and require coordination with off-project hydraulic & hydrologic engineers in other Bechtel offices.
Major Responsibilities
- Oversee the development of the design basis, preparation of the technical scope, performance of the technical bid evaluation, and review and approval of FEED/DEC deliverables as they relate to external flood protection, site drainage, and stormwater management.
- Review and assist technical documents with/from other engineering disciplines, procurement, and construction.
- Schedule and monitor work activities.
- Monitor budgets for work activities.
- Prepare technical reports related to specific design issues.
- Assist in constructability reviews.
- Supervise discipline activities within areas of subject matter expertise.
- Act as a mentor for subordinate engineers and scientists.
- Schedule and coordinate reviews for engineering deliverables.
- Conduct annual performance reviews, coaching, and career development discussions as applicable.
Education And Experience Requirements
- M.S. degree in civil engineering or a related field specializing hydraulic or hydrologic engineering with 15 years of relevant work experience, or a Ph.D. in civil engineering or a related field specializing hydraulic or hydrologic engineering with 13 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge And Skills
- Ability to independently execute flood modeling, stormwater analysis, and hydraulic analysis of structures and piping systems in support of renewable solar energy projects.
- Proficient in the use of H&H analysis software such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM/XPSWMM or equivalent.
- Proficient with word processing, spreadsheet, computer graphics, and other appropriate computer applications to facilitate the compilation and analysis of data collection activities.
- Knowledge of engineering deliverables, such as calculations, engineering study reports, drawings, and specifications.
- Understands work processes of other engineering disciplines and functions on projects.
- Ability to resolve technical issues with other hydrologic engineers, other engineering disciplines, other functions, and the client.
- Excellent listening, oral and written communication, planning, and organizational skills.
