You Are

UST is seeking an Ab Initio Lead ETL Developer to build end-to-end business solutions and work with one of the leading healthcare providers in the US. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in extracting, transforming, and loading data into the warehouse. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with domain and technical experts are essential.

The Opportunity

  • Data Management: Oversee the extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes for data warehousing.
  • Component Design: Design and integrate ETL components while addressing and resolving data-related issues, collaborating closely with project leads.
  • Technical Expertise: Utilize experience with ETL tools in a DB2 environment to support and enhance ETL processes.
  • Code Development: Implement and develop efficient Ab Initio code by performing source and target analysis.
  • Application Development: Contribute to the development and optimization of the ETL application, ensuring it meets business requirements.
  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Create and execute comprehensive system and integration test plans to validate the ETL application.
  • Specification Documentation: Develop detailed ETL specifications based on business needs to guide implementation.
  • Collaboration: Assist in the overall design of the ETL application and actively participate in all project meetings to ensure alignment and progress.

What You Need

  • Strong knowledge of UNIX systems.
  • High proficiency in the Ab Initio Graphical Development Environment (GDE).
  • Hands on experience with Ab Initio Meta Data Hub (MDH).
  • Experience with Ab Initio EME (Enterprise Meta>Data Environment) and Control Center.
  • Basic understanding of developing web services using Ab Initio Continuous Flows.
  • Knowledge of Control-M Scheduler.
  • Strong knowledge with additional Ab Initio tools, such as Query>IT, MDH, and BRE.
  • Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Ability to create high-level and detailed designs represented as flow diagrams (preferably using Visio).
  • Capability to translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications.
  • Ability to breakdown complex issues into manageable components and designing solutions.
  • Experience in designing end-to-end data warehousing and reporting solutions utilizing databases, ETL tools, and reporting frameworks.
  • Ability to provide time estimates for development tasks based on design specifications.
  • Experience collaborating with Production Validation (PV) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) teams.
  • Proficient in conducting detailed system impact analyses for change requests and providing accurate estimates.
  • Leadership skills to mentor junior developers and provide feedback across multiple projects.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong Technical design and facilitation skills with driving technical solutions while working with Business and IT leadership.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective documentation skills.
  • Proficient in English for communication purposes.
  • Open and honest communication with peers and management regarding estimations and project timelines, including proactive updates on issues and concerns.
  • Assertiveness in presenting ideas, estimates, project scope, and timelines.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with DB2 and Postgres databases.
  • Familiarity with handling PHI (Protected Health Information) and PII (Personally Identifiable Information) and sensitive data.
  • 10+ years’ experience working in data warehousing environment using Ab Initio suite.
  • Knowledge of business intelligence and analytics tools such as Cognos or Tableau.
  • In-depth knowledge of the U.S. healthcare system, including medical and prescription claims processing, healthcare enrollments, and provider operations.
  • Awareness of security standards in data handling.
  • Qualifications:
  • Preferred: master’s degree in computer science or a related field.
  • Required: bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.

Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.

Role Location: Remote

Compensation Range: $95,000-$143,750

Benefits

Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They are eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as the following Company-paid Employee Only benefits: basic life insurance, accidental death and disability insurance, and short- and long-term disability benefits. Regular employees may purchase additional voluntary short-term disability benefits, and participate in a Health Savings Account (HSA) as well as a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for healthcare, dependent child care, and/or commuting expenses as allowable under IRS guidelines. Benefits offerings vary in Puerto Rico.

Full-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year) and are eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) program with employer matching. Part-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year).
