Job Description:

The Regional Manager HVDC Installations is responsible for managing the planning, execution, and oversight of high-voltage direct current (HVDC) system installations in Hitachi Energy’s HVDC projects on the European market. Working closely with the Global Head of Installation, the role ensures safe and efficient project delivery, covering main circuit systems, control, auxiliary systems, cable termination, and equipment testing. You will lead a large team, ensuring safety, resource efficiency, and alignment with company and client objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the installation team, ensuring alignment with project goals and adherence to safety standards.
  • Communicate project status, updates, and directives between the team and the Global Head.
  • Plan and assign skilled personnel to projects, coordinating with other global teams.
  • Monitor installation progress, ensuring timelines and technical standards are met.
  • Conduct site visits to ensure smooth execution and address any on-site issues.
  • Oversee the onboarding, training, and development of both permanent and temporary staff ie: Plan and assign personnel to project activities in coordination with other Global Managers, the Global Head, and Project C&C Managers to optimize skillsets and resources.
  • Coordinate with the Global Head to ensure new permanent staff are properly trained and have access to all necessary systems, software, and documentation.
  • Assist in preparing and managing the department’s budget, maintaining control over project costs and schedules.
  • Promote a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
  • Provide technical support for tender activities, including resource planning and subcontractor evaluation.
  • Facilitate the sharing of lessons learned and best practices to improve future project execution.

  • A minimum of 10 years relevant experience
  • Inspiring people manager with proven records in leading and developing larger teams
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Significant experience in HVDC installations and managing large technical projects
  • Expertise in HVDC systems, project management, and safety protocols.
  • Relevant electrical safety and leadership certifications.
