Job Overview

Join our dedicated team as an Early Intervention Special Instructor, where you will play a pivotal role in supporting our school-based and community-oriented programs in Philadelphia and its neighboring counties. This remote position focuses on working with children aged 3-5, providing flexible scheduling options to fit various personal needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver early intervention services that conform to established professional standards and best practices.
  • Develop engaging learning environments and activities that foster developmental, cognitive, and social skills.
  • Collaborate with families and caregivers to create routines that enhance learning opportunities.
  • Provide information and resources to families of children with disabilities.
  • Support families with actionable guidance to help their children succeed in educational settings.
  • Adhere to all applicable federal, state, and county regulations for early intervention services.
  • Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings as required.
  • Ensure that all children receive services in the least restrictive environment possible.
  • Plan and organize instructional strategies to maximize each child’s learning potential.
  • Implement curricula that facilitate goal attainment as defined in the IEP.
  • Advocate for the unique needs of each child and effectively communicate those needs to others.
  • Attend and contribute to team meetings as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all findings in compliance with county policies and educational standards.

Qualifications

  • A Master's degree from an accredited institution in early intervention, early childhood education, special education, child development, or family studies.
  • Valid Pennsylvania certification as a Special Instructor, including a teaching certificate.
  • Completion of state-mandated competencies.
  • A minimum of one year of experience working directly with preschool children (ages 3-5) or children with disabilities and their families.
