The role

As a Buyer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. The role will give you exposure to material purchasing in the Naval Marine/Naval Nuclear sectors at a critical time during the migration from IFS to SAP.

 

Day to day, you will support the company and provide support to the Babcock Supply Chain in the provision of Goods and / or Services. 

 

  • Supporting with the transition from IFS to SAP.
  • Carry out sourcing and supplier allocation activities.
  • Managing supplier relationships and performance. 
  • Managing system dates to ensure project timelines are met.
  • Coordination with operational procurement team to ensure project requirements are executed on time. 

 

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with Mon – Weds onsite & Thurs - Fri working from home.

 

Essential experience of the Buyer:

  • Prior experience as a Buyer
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems, SAP would be an advantage
  • IT literate and experience of working with Microsoft Packages
  • Must be self-motivated and willing to develop new skills
  • Good stakeholder management experience (including business and supply chain

 

Qualifications for the Buyer:

  • CIPS lv4 desirable, but not mandatory
  • GCSE passes in Mathematics and English Language at Grade “C” / 5 or higher.
