Systems Software and Network Test Engineer, Senior

As a Systems Engineer at Booz Allen, you’ll use the latest architectural approaches and open-source frameworks and tools to deliver complete end-to-end solutions to your clients. Using your software engineering expertise, you’ll analyze the environment to ensure that your team’s solutions consider the architecture and operating environment, as well as future functionality and enhancements. You’ll sharpen your skills as you master new tools and techniques while helping to identify and implement system improvements.

You Have:
Experience in system integration, including upgrades, testing, and configuration of network components on the Emulation Test Bed, including traffic stimulation and TGEN
Experience with supporting system testing by performing test-scenario development or network traffic stimulation, including TGEN, system configurations, test-run execution and monitoring, network data capture, data storage, and post-test database generation
Experience with performing data analysis, including analyzing the network data collected from the test runs and producing data products for management review
Experience in developing performance metrics, including throughput, latency, and packet completion rate
Experience with producing network topology graphs and correlating its impact on network connectivity during the test run
Experience with identifying anomalous network behavior and providing explanations or directions on how to resolve the issue
Experience with designing and developing new GUI screens to display network performance statistics
Experience with updating the TRANCE backend PCAP parser to recognize packets from VLAN locations
Secret clearance
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Systems Engineering, or 10+ years of experience in software engineering, networking engineering, and systems engineering in lieu of a degree
Nice If You Have:
Experience with Java, Python, C#, C/C++, .NET, and JavaScript
Experience with networking, including CCNA
Experience with VMware
Experience with developing an automated and customized set of SQL queries to analyze network statistics
Experience with troubleshooting external network issues
Ability to develop and implement a test plan to validate a major rewrite of a backend processor in C++
Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 to $193,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
