General Summary

This position is responsible for providing technical virtual construction modeling and drafting for active projects through the generation of 2- and 3-dimensional models and drawings, as well as generating the survey data in the office and coordinating with survey personnel and projects supervision.

Essential Job Accountabilities
  • Generate 3D design models, 3D digital drawings, as-built models, as-built figures, documents, and data to enforce quality assurance and control over projects.
  • Develop sketches, notes, and other input materials to produce computer-generated graphs, charts, overlays, civil engineering plans, and completed drawings.
  • Compile and process field survey data to produce as-built plans and compliance requirements for quality assurance and controls.
  • Perform quality control on computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) data to ensure its preparation for surveying application.
  • Coordinate the office work and plans with survey personnel, projects supervision, and the fieldwork to ensure the smooth progress of projects.
  • Prepare data for automatic machine control (AMG) to ensure proper calibration.
  • Assist in the compilation of quantity take-offs and 3D models to prepare them for use in estimation and bidding.
  • Ability to coordinate with construction operations, designers, and owners to ensure that good communication between all stakeholders.
Education/Certification
  •  Technical degree in applicable field or 1+ years of experience preferred

Work Experience
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD required
  • Experience in drawing and model management using ProjectWise
  • Experience as a civil drafter for delivery of heavy civil projects preferred
  • Familiarity with the production of as-built drawings preferred

Knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Proficiency with all MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Ability to understand technical drawings and plans
  • Advanced math and computer skills
  • Proficiency with civil drafting software Autodesk, Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, and Bluebeam
  • General civil construction knowledge, plan, and detail production experience preferred
  • Microstation Inroads, Open Road Designer, and Revit experience preferred
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Skilled in assuming responsibility and meeting deadlines
Physical Demands

Base Salary Range: 

$68,842.00 - $103,263.00

Pay may vary based upon relevant experience, skills, location, and education among other factors.
