Description

The Government Policy & Regulatory Affairs Consultant will review and assess various elements of a large LA-based utility company’s operational framework to recommend amendments for improving strategic alignment and operational efficiency with the Los Angeles City Charter and Administrative Code.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze the utility company’s operations concerning the Los Angeles City Charter and Administrative Code.
  • Provide recommendations on executive compensation, procurement processes, rate-setting, and more.
  • Review and propose changes to enhance the agility and efficiency of the utility’s governance.
  • Document and report on findings and recommendations for potential amendments to the Los Angeles City Charter and Administrative Code.
  • Provide detailed reports on governance processes such as exempt positions allotment, purchasing authority, rate setting, and more.
  • Regularly update on the status of proposed changes and their impact on strategic alignment and operations.

Requirements

  • In-depth understanding of municipal governance structures and administrative codes.
  • Strong background in public policy, law, or government administration.
  • Experience working with large public sector entities, preferably in utilities or similar industries.
  • Excellent ability to analyze complex processes and propose legislative changes.

Travel

Quarterly travel to the Los Angeles, California is required.
