Job description

Who is Tenable?

Tenable® is the Exposure Management company. 44,000 organizations around the globe rely on Tenable to understand and reduce cyber risk. Our global employees support 65 percent of the Fortune 500, 45 percent of the Global 2000, and large government agencies. Come be part of our journey!

What makes Tenable such a great place to work?

Ask a member of our team and they’ll answer, “Our people!” We work together to build and innovate best-in-class cybersecurity solutions for our customers; all while creating a culture of belonging, respect, and excellence where we can be our best selves. When you’re part of our #OneTenable team, you can expect to partner with some of the most talented and passionate people in the industry, and have the support and resources you need to do work that truly matters. We deliver results that exceed expectations and we win together!

Your Role:

Tenable is reimagining the industry analyst relations function and is on the lookout for a sharp, curious, detail-oriented and personable Senior Analyst Relations Manager who is ready to join our team, reporting to the Head of AR. At Tenable, AR is a strategic function - we are not beholden to the activity-based metrics found in AR programs of yore; our impact and insights-based approach directly supports Tenable’s product, marketing and corporate strategies. We challenge ourselves to find better ways to practice the art and science of Analyst Relations and to make our AR best practices even better every day. If you’ve got great ideas about how to increase the value AR provides its stakeholders, Tenable is the place to bring them to life.

This role is a key contributor to the strategy and function of AR at Tenable. The candidate will own and have responsibilities aligned to specific product lines, working closely with senior executives across the organization to innovate, develop and own AR initiatives - from strategy development through to tactical execution. If you love a challenge, enjoy a good brainstorm, and want to see your efforts have a noticeable impact on the trajectory of a fast-growing cybersecurity company, this is the opportunity for you.

Your Opportunity:

  • Define the strategy and manage key AR initiatives with top-tier analyst firms to support two segments of the business – Tenable Identity Exposure and Tenable OT Security – and actively support Tenable’s broader cybersecurity portfolio, including the Tenable One Exposure Management platform, Tenable Cloud Security, and Tenable Vulnerability Management.
  • Lead and manage Tenable’s relationship with Forrester, including company representation on the Forrester AR Council.
  • Lead and manage Tenable’s AR event strategy, including the development and execution of programs to leverage industry and analyst firm events to strengthen analyst relationships.
  • Build bi-directional relationships and communications channels that cultivate a collaborative and symbiotic relationship with Tenable’s Competitive Intelligence Team.
  • Proactively engage and deepen relationships with the industry analyst community (e.g., Gartner, Forrester, IDC) to ensure their understanding of Tenable’s business strategy and product value and to seek their input and guidance.
  • Initiate and facilitate intention-based interactions that inform and engage our analyst community, handling all associated logistics needs for inquiries/briefings/advisories, as well as spokesperson coaching and preparation and post-call actions.
  • Guide internal subject matter experts and spokespeople in preparing content that is tailored for an analyst audience.
  • Project manage analyst evaluations, contributing strategic input, while also overseeing deliverable requirements and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Analyze and synthesize analyst feedback into strategic business value and actionable insights across the company; contextualize learnings for value and impact; work cross-functionally to ensure the information gets into the right hands.
  • Monitor analyst reports to identify AR engagement opportunities, as well as themes, quotes, and data to enhance Tenable messaging and materials.
  • Collaborate with the Head of AR to define goals, determine metrics, assess program progress, and measure the impact of the AR program.
  • Build cross-functional relationships with product management, sales, investor relations, and marketing teams (and beyond) to determine where AR insights can inform and add value to Tenable plans and programs - and vice versa.
  • Identify opportunities to align the AR program across company-wide functions to support major initiatives, product launches and targeted projects.

What You'll Need:

  •  8+ years of overall experience, including at least 5 years in analyst relations with direct AR program ownership and management of major evaluations; additional experience in product marketing, communications, or similar fields is preferred.
  • Track record demonstrating successful AR program management, including the agility to maneuver between taking numerous collaborative projects from idea to successful conclusion, while managing day-to-day operations related to program activities in a global company.
  • Proven ability to balance strategic thinking with tactical, detailed execution while working independently to set and manage deadlines, connect the dots, and solve problems.
  • Strong bias towards action with the ability to advise and make decisions quickly amidst multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to quickly understand technically complex topics; knowledge of the cybersecurity marketplace and its unique requirements a major plus; experience in enterprise software required.
  • Team player with the ability to build rapport and trust with colleagues on cross-functional, geographically dispersed teams, as well as with meaningful external stakeholders such as top-tier industry analysts.

And Ideally:

  • Your inherent drive and self-starter attitude motivate you. You thrive in a global, fast-paced, collaborative environment where industry and technology is ever-changing and the bar for quality is set high.
  • You execute on logistics with flawless attention to detail. Excellent organizational skills and strong follow-through a must.
  • Not only can you analyze complex concepts, but you also recognize the importance of knowing your audience and can adjust content, tone, and positioning accordingly. Your written and verbal communications skills are superb.
  • You possess an innate curiosity and enjoy figuring out how things (and people) work, and you have the ability to adapt to new approaches and concepts quickly and effectively.
  • You have a strong work ethic, with a personal commitment to a job well done.
  • You maintain a positive, flexible attitude and sense of humor (we enjoy our work and working with one another!)
