Job description

Why MSI? We thrive on solving challenges. As a leading MGA, MSI combines deep underwriting expertise with insurer risk capacity to create specialized insurance solutions that empower distribution partners to meet customers’ unique needs. We have a passion for crafting solutions for the important risks facing individuals and businesses. We offer an expanding suite of products – from fully-digital embedded renters coverage to high-value homeowners insurance to sophisticated commercial coverages, such as cyber liability and habitational property – delivered through agents, brokers, wholesalers and other brand partners.

Our partners and customers count on us to deliver exceptional service through a dedicated team that makes rapid resolutions a priority. We simplify the insurance experience through our advanced technology platform that supports every phase of the policy lifecycle. Bring on your challenges and let us show you how we build insurance better.

What You'll Do:

MSI continues to rapidly grow and expand the product suite. As such, we’re looking for a Director of Program Strategy and Management, to help guide our product team through the journey of building new programs and scaling current programs.

With a curious mindset and drive to build for the future, you will partner with our Segment and P&L Leaders to build product strategies, while working with delivery/IT to turn ideas into reality. In addition, as a consensus-builder, you will champion cross-program initiatives that require strong alignment and coordinated action planning across functions.

Though this is an individual contributor role, it is high visibility- you’ll have significant agency to influence MSI’s future, provide guidance to senior leadership, and build consensus across the entirety of the MGA.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Segment Leaders to define & evaluate new go-to-market strategies; including external assessment of the marketplace & internal assessment of capabilities required to win
  • In collaboration with P&L Leaders, identify & prioritize levers to increase product sophistication
  • Turn ideas into actionable plans by ensuring all operational teams have a voice in development
  • Establish P&L objectives for new initiatives, in consultation with P&L Managers
  • Champion our new program governance process to create organizational clarity on priorities, surface and facilitate healthy discussions, and improve alignment where action is required
  • Provide the “product voice” as our representative during reinsurance processes and other carrier relationship cadences
  • As a member of the personal lines leadership team, provide mentorship and coaching to help build others up & grow

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years P&C insurance expertise, with strong familiarity in personal lines property product management. Prefer experiences specifically in product design or state management
  • Entrepreneurial mindset- act as a thought-partner across the org to design new product entry strategies and work with agile IT teams to develop & launch solutions
  • Clear communication & interpersonal skills- ability to communicate effectively and succinctly, at all levels of an organization. Builds inclusive & engaging environments
  • Structured, analytic thinking- comfortable breaking down bigger concepts into component parts; ability to assess problems quantitatively, while quickly translating findings into actions
  • Adaptability- comfortable in a fast-past, remote-first environment and culture

Location:

  • Remote, with access to local Baldwin Group offices as desired
  • Travel occasionally for internal and external meetings
