Where does this role fit in?
Our Quality Control team is currently recruiting for a Proofreader to join their team, based at our Birmingham office. Ensuring the accuracy of all marketing assets, produced for a raft of prestigious client, you’ll need an exceptional eye for detail, an analytical mind and a better-than-average knowledge of English grammar.
This role is for alternating day and evening shifts. Day shifts are either 8am–4.30pm or 9am–5.30. The evening shift will be 3pm–11pm with a half-hour break. When working on the evening shifts you will be able to work fully remotely, whilst day shifts are a hybrid pattern of two days at home and three days in our Birmingham office per week. The evening shift is being newly introduced to ensure wider cover for our rapidly growing department and the rotation of shifts will most likely be two weeks of evenings with one week of days to rotate and repeat. If enough people are interested, the frequency will be one week on, one week off. Some flexibility is possible with shifts and hours, and this can be discussed at the appropriate time.
As a Quality Control Executive, your responsibilities will include:
- Gaining an understanding of the brand guidelines of multiple clients to ensure absolute compliance and consistency of all assets
- Checking and proofreading a broad range of artwork and digital executions to ensure accuracy for pre-qualified briefs
- Sub-editing and proofreading copy for spelling, grammar, internal logic and compliance to corporate identity
- Proofreading and double-checking work alongside the other members of the team

- Proofreading/quality control experience in a professional environment
- Experience of meeting frequent tight deadlines
- Exceptional spelling and grammar skills
- A methodical, analytical mind and meticulous attention to detail
- The ability to work in a high-pressure, collaborative environment
- The ability to manage your own time effectively
- Computer literacy and working knowledge of Apple OS, Microsoft Office suite and Adobe software
- Some knowledge of technical print specifics, i.e. Bleed and crop marks, colour breakdowns, font usage and image resolutions
