Responsibilities

  • Identifies volunteer services within the local community to meet the needs of the community, patients, and families.
  • Responsible for meeting the Medicare 5% requirement for volunteer services.
  • Engages within local communities to promote volunteer recruitment and provide education on hospice volunteer services.
  • Arranges for the assignment of volunteers and provision of volunteer support to patients/caregivers based on the volunteer plan of care.
  • Provides information to individuals and community groups about hospice volunteer program.
  • Evaluates the volunteer program on an ongoing basis to determine if changes are needed to the services being provided. Participates in QAPI activity.
  • Investigates and resolves complaints related to volunteer services for assigned care center. Escalates as needed to regional manager of volunteer services.
  • Conducts in-person assessment for field activity sign-off or patient care visits.
  • Complies with policies, procedures, and regulatory mandates.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree. May be substituted with three years' experience in a related field.
  • Must be familiar with general use and functions of computer; internet; e-mail, navigation/starting programs. Self-manage online HR services and training.

Preferred

  • One year of direct or indirect supervisory or leadership experience.
