Sourcing and Originations Investment Associate

Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid Remote/Office)

We are actively seeking a driven and meticulous Sourcing and Originations Investment Associate to become a vital member of our innovative private equity team. This role provides a distinctive opportunity to contribute significantly in identifying, assessing, and managing compelling investment prospects. You will collaborate closely with senior leadership, playing a crucial role in advancing the firm's and its portfolio companies' success. This position is situated in the heart of downtown Houston and offers a flexible hybrid work configuration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the evaluation of new platform and bolt-on investment opportunities through the firm’s sourcing initiatives.
  • Analyze confidential information memorandums and non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), offering strategic recommendations for early-stage opportunities.
  • Conduct comprehensive due diligence, encompassing financial analysis, market exploration, competitive assessments, and risk evaluations for prospective investments.
  • Partner with the Portfolio Operations team to ensure bolt-on acquisitions align with overarching strategic objectives.
  • Liaise with brokers, third-party diligence providers, and internal specialists regarding potential deals.
  • Prepare and scrutinize investment memorandums, deal bid letters, and various investment analyses for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain and revise platform strategy documents to ensure alignment of acquisition goals with investment opportunities.
  • Cultivate and sustain relationships with deal sources and service providers, enhancing our expanding network of opportunities.

Required Skills

  • Solid academic foundation: A degree in finance, economics, or a related domain with proven academic excellence.
  • 2-4 years of pertinent experience in Investment Banking or Private Equity, especially in sourcing, originations, or mergers & acquisitions (M&A).
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical capabilities with an in-depth understanding of accounting, finance, and capital structures.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling confident interactions with senior management and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in M&A and deal execution from a reputable investment bank or private equity firm.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented setting.
  • Attention to detail with a proven capacity to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Experience in preparing Investment Committee Memorandums and platform thesis presentation decks.
  • Must possess eligibility to work in the U.S.
